Broadcast 281. ComicMix.com Alright, could you tell me what's it worth? ComicMix.com Hi, it's Mike Raub, and whether you're a collector, a speculator, or just a comic fan, sometimes it's really good to know what your treasures are worth.
And now there's a way to do it online, instantly, and free. I will tell you, coming up on November 1st. 2008. ComicMix.com My artists like Mike Zukowski, Don Heck, George Tuska, and a lot more. Following voice at the bottom of the scene, there will be two issues of the time tunnel. This will be in the trade paperback. In addition to the two comics, there will be 48 pages of extra material, including photographs and essays about the show.
That will be in stores in July of 2009. And for Christmas next year, there will be the final volume of voice at the bottom of the scene. That will be another hardcover. About 208 pages, totally. And then there will also be the fantasy world of Erwin Allen. It's an in-depth art book detailing the behind-the-scenes production and special effects and the histories of the shows that Allen did in the 60s. And then really planning ahead, in February of 2010, there will be the last of the Erwin Allen reprints, a hardcover edition of Land of the Giants.
It all begins, though, with voice at the bottom of the scene, volume one. That will be in stores in February. Retailers are ordering that right now, so be sure to check with your comic shop owner if you want to be sure to get one. Eric Schanauer's reimagining of the wonderful world of Oz will soon be in comic stores from Marvel Comics. It's set to come in sometime in the next week or so. But if you'd like to see all the behind-the-scenes work done on this, well, it's easy to do. There's a sketchbook with new character designs featuring Dorothy with Scarecrow, Toto, and a lot more.

Just in case you missed a couple of the stories here on Comic Makes, Robert Downey Jr. is going to be Iron Man in the Avengers movie as well as in the sequel to Iron Man as well. And Iron Man director, John Favreau, of course, returns for Iron Man 2 and will also be involved as a producer on the Avengers movie. All those scheduled, of course, for 2010 and 2011. It's a few days before we begin our rundown on the new comics. It's scheduled to hit the stores this week, but here's one we want to make note of right now.
Aspen Comics is honored to announce the release of the tribute to Michael Turner issue. It's a huge compilation of writers, creators, artists, all from the industry and beyond, all to celebrate the life and the work of Michael Turner. There's some real interesting things here, including a compilation cover done for the first time by Michael and Alex Ross. There's special tribute from the Aspen Comics staff and about 40 all new pages of original art from just about everybody in the business. It'll be in stores coming up this week on Wednesday. All your rights to Vipers Villains comic series have not been acquired by Universal. Matt Jensen and Bryn Strickland, who actually wants to descriptive for Wonder Woman not that long ago, have been signed to do the script. At least that's what has been told in the Hollywood Reporter. The Vyper Comics miniseries, which was done by Adam Cogan and Ryan Cody, is also going to be collected into a trade paperback, which will be released in December. The whole thing involves a slacker of about 20 plus years old who gets supervillain lessons from a retired villain who just happens to live in his neighborhood.

Comics Price Guide dot com is an online database that incorporates quite a few titles, publishers that many people today collect.
Marvel, DC, all the way to obscure stuff, you know, undergrounds, and it maintains the prices and values for all those. That's Brian Neely from Comics Price Guide dot com. So you say you're on eBay and you're looking at a bunch of comics and they seem like a really good deal. But are they? Well, you can't memorize all the latest trends. So how do you do it? Well, you can go to Comics Price Guide dot com. But how do they stay current? We have different ways of doing it. Most of the time we have dealers across the country that will give us data in our forums. We have administrators all over the country and in Canada, some in Europe that help us get the information. We have eBay feeds that come in and we maintain those, you know, so it's quite a few different things. And it's a headache sometimes.
How often do the prices change on the site? Constantly updated daily. I think it's updated daily. By the way, did I mention this is free? That's correct. You can come in here to our site and you just sign in for free. There's no cost to sign in. And once you sign in, you can check anything you like. You can check the values of basically almost every book out there. I'd be very hard pressed to find one that's not in there. So with hundreds of thousands of titles and such and growing every day, where do they go from here? I guess laterally. We're always going upward. So the next step is more exposure. We're just trying to get more exposure.
By the way, Comic Book Price Guide is a great place to go cover shopping too. I kind of call that the Comic Fan's equivalent of window shopping. There's plenty to see there. Oh yeah. No, we have cover scans for quite a few books too. We're always welcoming more every day. The members are allowed to scan, upload those scans. We'll verify them. This is correct. We'll put them in there and give them credit for it. And there's actually a contest online where there's nothing you can win except for stage. And the perennial favorite from Dark Horse this week, Yusuke Yojimbo number 5. In the news, former President Nixon abandoned plans to build his memorial library in San Clemente, California. China accepted the first non-reference American book in their libraries. It was the biography of auto giant Liya Koka.
And Supreme Court nominee Douglas Ginsburg faced more tough hearings in the week to come. In the movies, there was fatal attraction, watch out for the rabbit, suspect the hidden, dirty dancing and… All dead? Well, with all dead, there's usually only one thing that you can do. What's that? But through his clothes, it looks to lose change.
Never can get enough of the Princess Bride. TV Tonight had the forgettable My Two Dads episodes of Married with Children and Duet on Fox. There was Dolly Parton's Variety Show on the flip side over on PBS with another episode of Upstairs Downstairs. 1987. On the radio, one of the more underappreciated bands of the 80s that began in Sweden.
They did heavy metal and hard rock, but unfortunately they were labeled glam metal. That didn't stop them and even when they went to record the first time, they were told they had to cut their hair and learn to sing in Swedish. They didn't listen to that either. Had a number of big albums all through the 80s and hits like this one. The band is Europe and Carrie.
