Marvel continues to spice up their Bring on the Bad Guys Month with all new villain variant covers to Captain America 45 and Daredevil 114 plus one on Nova No. 20 by Mike Diodato. All three issues will be in comic stores on December 24th. Asylum Press announced today that for the first 12 days of December, everyone who signs up for their mailing list will receive three free comic books mailed to them by the end of the month.
The choice of comics will be at the discretion of the publisher. All free books will be mailed out by the end of December at the latest. Fans can sign up for the newsletter by emailing asylumpress at aol.com and put Christmas newsletter promotion in the subject line. Participants should make sure to place their mailing address in the body of the email. This offer is only valid in the United States, and fans outside the US can get free comics by paying $12.95 each, which covers that fancy USPS Global Express shipping. UClick has added the graphic novel version of Clive Barker's The Thief of Always to its line of comic book titles optimized for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
The novel was serialized into a graphic novel in 2005 by IDW Publishing. All three installments of The Thief of Always are now available in the iPhone app store for only $0.99 each. The Thief of Always is the tale of Harvey Swick, an average boy bored with school until he receives a visit from an otherworldly stranger. Mr. Rickdas invites Harvey to Mr. Hood's Holiday House, a child's paradise where, Rickdas declares, Harvey will find everything his heart desires. The Holiday House proves to be all Rickdas promised, but Harvey soon discovers that its pleasures come with a heavy price.
UClick continues to add to its collection of popular graphic novels and webcomics available on the iPhone app store, including Jeff Smith's Bone, the cosmic sci-fi superhero series Godland, and even Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles anthology series Tales of TMNT, plus more. iPhone releases from UClick are available right now in the iTunes app store. According to the sci-fi wire, Watchman director Zack Snyder has turned in a new edit of the film, clocking in at 2 hours and 35 minutes. This is roughly 10 minutes down from the approximate 2 hours 45 minutes runtime announced during last summer's convention season. The new edit has not received final approval from the studio, however, there is one group of fans organized to try to petition Warner Bros. to release a 3-hour theatrical version.
Snyder said that the 3-hour 10-minute director's cut is already planned for the eventual home video release, along with an even longer 3-hour 40-minute version that incorporates the animated short version of the comic book within Watchman, entitled Tales of the Black Freighter, edited into the main film. Watchman will hit theaters nationally on March 6, 2009. Hi everybody, this is your cousin Bruce here, and you know what you're listening to right now? Comic fix. Comic fix radio. In our continuing quest to find cool and unique gifts, we started hearing internet rumors of an original CD of songs dedicated to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or at least the late limited series.
We clicked here and there, and our search led us to this guy. My name is Christopher Ridge McElvey, or people call me Bald Guy from Bald Guy Studios. Currently I am a commission artist, I do a lot of commission work, I'm also working on penciling a book possibly for image coming up hopefully next year. I also did a CD cover for a friend of mine who is a huge freak about Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and has an awesome CD, actually. You can catch one of the songs on the Joss Whedon webpage that he has up, and like I said, she is a freak about the show.
And it really shows in the music, because the songs are very eclectic, very fun, and you can tell us from a true fan of the show. The musician in question is Megan Goguirdy, and she came to get cover art from Chris in a unique way. Actually, her sister, who I know, we were talking one day and she was telling me about how she's written these songs and she wants to come out with a CD, just off the top of her head. And I said, well you know if she ever needs a cover art from the CD, let her know. And I didn't think anything of it, but it was like three hours later, her sister called me, you want to do my cover art?
And I was like, yeah, I'll do it, sure, not a problem. So what about this CD? Oh yeah, the name of the CD is I Miss Buffy. Her name is Megan Goguirdy. Along with her husband Chris, they are just extremely talented people, and the music is fun. If anybody is familiar with people like Richard Cheese, or they might be giants, or anybody like that, where the music is very eclectic, they will love this CD.

and the 156th volume of the official handbook of the Marvel Universe. 1986. And in the news, Reagan's cabinet members went before the Senate to tell them about the Iran-Contra situation. Meanwhile, Congress received the first one trillion dollar budget in US history. Dozens of pilot whales mysteriously beat themselves off Cape Cod, leaving six mammals dead.
In the movies, there was Disney's re-release of the Song of the South, plus more animation. In An American Tale, Kathleen Turner was in Peggy Sue, Cool Hand Luke was in The Color of Money, and Kirk and the Boys were in Star Trek IV. Your use of language has altered since our arrival. It is currently laced with, shall I say, more colorful metaphors. Double dumbass on you and so forth. Give me the profanity. That's simply the way they talk here. Nobody pays any attention to you unless you swear every other word. You'll find it in all the literature, period. On TV tonight, episodes of Family Ties, Simon & Simon, The Cosby's, Designing Women, Night Court and LA Law.
On the radio, an English band who went from a 60s pop band to a 70s progressive rock group and then to an 80s melody drive icon. This album, Invisible Touch, was their biggest and the disturbing use of stop animation versions of The President combined to push the music video for Land of Confusion to the top.
