Teeny Tiendas: The Hardware Store/La Ferretería

“Celebrating language and everyday experiences. . . A vibrant bilingual addition ideal for libraries growing early literacy collections.” —School Library Journal (starred review)

Head to the hardware store for any tool you might need as this warm, bilingual board book series continues, introducing the youngest of readers to the community around them.

Welcome to Mrs. Sierra’s hardware store.
Bienvenido a la ferretería de la Señora Sierra.

In Mrs. Sierra’s hardware store, there are so many kinds of tools to choose, from hammers and mallets to pliers and screws. Learn their names in both English and Spanish, then pick your favorite and join the fix-up crew at the school playground! Will you choose a drill/taladro and some drill bits/brocas? Or some levels and rulers/niveles y reglas to keep things straight and even? In this bright, bilingual series of board books from Lourdes Heuer and Zara González Hoang, readers are invited to stop at a different teeny tienda in every book–and celebrate with the vibrant, diverse community that frequents it.
