Alright, here's two more for the sold out comic record book, World War Hulk prologue, World Breaker and Incredible Hulk 106. Now we told you those sold out a few days ago. We also told you Marvel had no intentions to go back to press. Well, guess what? They're doing just that. There'll be a second printing variant of both those books. World War Hulk prologue will have a
variant covered by Al Rio and Incredible Hulk 106 second printing variant will have a variant covered by artist Gary Frank. More sold out books. Omega Flight number two is gone, gone, gone. Michael Omic must be happy about that. And again, this time Marvel is saying no second printings are planned at this point. If you've got a little princess around
the house who'd like to dress up in some S shield material. Well, she's in luck. Warner Brothers Consumer Products and DC Comics has launched a line of Supergirl S shield apparel and accessories. They were announced later in the week at a benefit event with partner Girls Incorporated. Now this includes some things like S shield
diamond necklaces, of course, tees, tanks and hoodies, sun dresses, limited edition flip flops, ballet flats, jeweled t-shirts, embroidered hats, bags, gold charms, necklaces and a lot more. Old Rockers Unite the Late Show with David Letterman's site on CBS.com is going to stream an exclusive webcast concert of Elvis Costello and the
Impostors coming up next Monday the 14th 825 p.m. eastern time. It'll be performed live from the Ed Sullivan theater where David does his show. Elvis is going to perform two songs from his latest album marking the 30th anniversary since his debut album My Aim is True hit the charts. Later on the performance will air on CBS on Friday that's the 18th of May next
week. Warner Brothers Television Group is signed to pronounce Jost on the web with a number of branded broadband channels that include some really cool stuff you'll like. For example, you can click on for WBTV sci-fi fixes will feature shows like Aquaman, Babylon 5, Invasion and even My Favorite
Martian. They're also going to do WBTV before they were megastars which include shows highlighting cast members who went on to bigger and better things. Bangoria Comics debuts their first titles in June. There'll be two books coming out. First of all Robert Kurtzman's Beneath the Valley of the
Rage and a series called Bump. They'll be hitting the comic stores right around the middle of June. Now Bump is the basis for an upcoming film by Kurtzman. He says it's part ghost story, part survival horror and part full-blown monster movie. And Kurtzman's Beneath the Valley of the Rage. By the way did you know Kurtzman was the guy behind
Dust Till Dawn in case his name sounds familiar. It's a four-issue prequel to his upcoming film The Rage. ComicMix We went through the comic store this week. You might have seen something a little different with your breeze past the Archie titles. Betty and Veronica
got a makeover. We're talking a serious one. Is it a dream? Is it an imaginary story? Archie publisher Michael Silverclide has the explanation. We've been approached by a lot of fans saying how are your characters going to look when they get a little older? And so we decided to draw do some stories where they're portrayed in a
more realistic style to try to keep the reader from when they stop reading Archie comics and go on to reading more sophisticated, more realistic stories. So what's next for the realistic Betty and Veronica? It's only 100 pages out of the thousands of pages we do every year. Everybody in the beginning thought we
were changing the whole line to look like that which is farthest from the truth. We're going to put 22-23 pages in a double digest. Betty and Veronica coming out in May. And the rest of the book will be the traditional Archie artwork. Then the next book will have 25 pages and then the rest of the book will be
traditional artwork and so on for four issues. Eventually we'll probably take those pages and put them into a graphic novel and sell them again as a trade paperback graphic novel which the fans would love to buy. If you're concerned about more changes down the road at Archie don't worry about that.
Michael has a promise for you. The Archie we all grew up reading for 65 years will never change. All right here's our rundown again of the books that should be here that aren't starting from DC. Dead Man number 10 has now been moved to the end of May. Shazam the Monster Society of Evil the last issue of that great mini series now
will come out on the end of June on the 27th. And Batman number 666 now has been delayed all the way to the 18th of July. From Image Dev Junior volume 2 number 3 has been moved into the 16th of May and Hero by Night number 3 has also been rescheduled for the 16th of May. Godland number 18 that will be out the 23rd. Negative Burn number 11 also the
23rd. And from Marvel Runaways volume 3 the hard cover has been moved to the 16th of May. She Hulk 2 number 18 that's set to come out the 23rd of the month and I know it's hot but you may have to wait for it. World War Hulk Gamma Core number 1 moved to the 18th of July. Number 2 is now scheduled for the 8th of August.
And from Devil's Dew the fourth volume of the Family Guy Graphic novel that'll be out finally on the 16th of this month. And local number 9 great independent book is actually coming out a little earlier that's going to be here on the 16th of May. ComicMix. ComicMix timeline. May 10th 1974. Well this week you got the giggle little of DC's Plop number 6 and then if you
could dig 60 cents out of your pocket you could use from 100 pages of Shazam number 13 or Justice League of America number 112 over in Adventure Comics number 434 it was real scary with another Mike Fleischer specter story. Marvel team up number 21 gave us Spider-Man and Doctor Strange together again. We got Captain Marvel number 32
and from good old Charlton comics the second issue of Yang. A growing list of Republican congressmen were urging President Richard Nixon to resign this week in the news and Secretary of State Henry Kissinger met for three hours with President Anwar Sadat about the growing situation in the Middle East. Sources in Washington said a subpoena
would be coming in days for the tape that contained a White House conversation held two months before the June 1972 break-in at the Watergate Hotel. In the movies it was a week that reads like a classic film school course. For a ticket that cost you under a buck you could see Blazing Saddles, American Graffiti, The Sting
and a little movie with a lot of underground buzz and a big punch. Ah Billy Jack. Problem was they had to go and make a second one. On TV tonight it also sounded like a porn lineup. Good Times, A Girl with Something Extra, Dirty Sally were all on TV. You could be a little more wholesome
with Glenn Campbell or a little more exciting with Steve Austin. Gentlemen we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's first bionic man. Steve Austin will be that man. On the radio some guys who were hit and missed back in 71 you heard of with the song called Witch Queen of New Orleans. They retired for just a little bit and
came back in 1974. Redbone and Common Guitar. Common Guitar. Spider-Man 3 is what everybody's talking about and you know they should with about 400 million dollars in the bank already. We've seen reviews from all the big places of course. The television shows, the reviewers, the talk show hosts have made jokes but what about
the true believers as Stan called us. The comic fans who started it all. Best place to find them is in a comic store and when we quizzed our panel of free comic book store retailers we asked them what their customers were talking about when it came to Spider-Man 3. Shannon at Boston's Comicopia weighed in with not quite a G-rated review. Some people said like that if I thought it was okay but really campy and laughed about it
other people are hugely pissed and upset that they spent the money on it. Meanwhile smack dab on the edge of Hollywood out there in LA Ryan at Golden Apple Comics had a little brighter view. Everybody's talking about it. A lot of people saying it's the best of the three. Some people say they like two better. Everybody's going to see it repeatedly and repeatedly I can tell you that. Adam Phoenix can't have drawn the comics said his customers went a little deeper into their
discussions. Spider-Man 3 some people have been disappointed some people said it was really good because uh special effects were awesome with the story sometimes they kind of thought was a little bit over the top. But I think Pat at graham cracker stores in Chicago nailed it pretty close. Honestly what most people are saying is that they didn't really care for that much. Except there's always a flip side and Jerry at New York City's Midtown Comics covers that.
Oh very good. Fantastic people love it. Hate it or love it good or bad you have to admit this is one of those weeks where the rest of the world like us thinks comics are pretty cool.
