Now this is more like it. Hi, it's Mike Raub, ComicMix Radio. And finally, we have some things popping in pop culture. Like Stan Lee turning Japanese, Dark Tower 2 just hours away from being unveiled, and Indie is going to Cannes. Let's get it all laid out on March 4th.

2008 ComicMix News! According to sources on the Anime News Network, Stan Lee has been collaborating on a new project along with the creator of the Shaman King's Crystal Bear. They're creating a new title which will debut in a magazine called Jump Square Second, which they use in Japan on the 80s of April.

Jump Square Second is a spin-off of Jump Square Magazine. That's where the announcement about Stan took place in the April issue, which came out yesterday. And it's no word yet on exactly what the new collaboration will be. Jonathan Hickman is putting his all-new miniseries Pax Romano online, starting with the second issue. First issue debuted just a few weeks back.

Now the second issue is scheduled to be in stores this week, and it can be read online at ProNia.com. We'll give you the full link this weekend on the broadcast blog right here on ComicMix. The Hollywood Reporter says that Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is about ready to announce a new animated series. It's fun out of the Family Guy and based on the character of Cleveland Brown. In case you didn't know, a balloon tied to a mailbox is the international symbol for party over here.

It's in collaboration with Mike Henry, who voices Cleveland on the show. He's also going to function as a writer-producer on the new show. Also involved is Rich Appell from The Simpsons. If it gets picked up, it'll be part of a brand-new lineup of cartoon series that are on the way from Fox, including one by Jack Black called Relative Insanity and another from Mike Scully called The Pits.

Mike, of course, involved also with The Simpsons. ABC has debuted Stage 9 Digital Media. It's a separate, creative studio dedicated to producing original series for the internet. So far, the first big project they've done is Squeegies. It debuted this week from a comedy troupe that calls itself Handsome Donkey.

The show is a character-driven sitcom about a group of slacker window watchers that run about 10 episodes and you can catch it every Monday and Friday on ABC.com and on YouTube as well. Other projects in the works include a new science fiction thriller called Trenches from the guy who did the Star Wars fan film Star Wars Revelations and a second season of the show that actually began this process as a pilot a few months back, something called Voicemail.

That's not all. According to New TV, there's a lot more coming to the internet from a lot of famous people. Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, we're back to him. He's got a new web series on the way called Cavalcade, a little premiere on Google. And actress Justine Bateman, you remember her from Family Ties, is leading a group of people that are putting together a whole new video site called FM78.tv. Again this year, the cable network Chiller is hosting their Dare to Direct contest.

Fans are invited to write, produce and submit short horror films. Prizes and the chance to be featured on Chiller's 2008 Dare to Direct Film Festival is what you get. That takes place on Halloween night and it's available to all the finalists and the winners. Contest rules and information, you can get that at ChillerTV.com or the website for the contest, which is DareToDirect.com. According to Variety, the Spielberg, Lucas, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will debut at the Cannes Film Festival on May 18th.

If you're counting, that's four days before the film opens nationwide. According to Variety, Harrison Ford, Shia LaBeouf and Kay Blanchard are all ready to appear at Cannes. By the way, this will be the first time Steven Spielberg has had a film at Cannes since he debuted E.T. there in 1982. Hi, this is Paul Levitt, president and publisher of DC Comics and this is Comic What's coming out this is this week.

Get your checklist ready because here we go with what's going to be in the stores in just a few short hours. Starting with another release from Big City Comics. It's Omega 1, number two. There's a few variant edition covers for that one as well if you look hard enough. From Dark Horse, Buffy the Vampire Slayer hits number 12. The End League is in at number two from Dark Horse. Then at DC, we get the all new Atom number 21.

Countdown, Lord Havoc and the Extremis hits number five in that six issue miniseries. Countdown to Adventure is at number seven. There's one more to go in that one. And Countdown to Final Crisis, we're getting closer. This is issue number eight of that one. First issue of the Teen Titans spin-off DC special Raven number one five-issue miniseries written by Titans creator, Marv Wolfman by the way.

Detective Comics is at number 842. Exterminators is at number 27 this week. We get the fables, Thousand One, Knights of Snowfall soft cover. What a great collection if you don't manage to collect all the fables or maybe you haven't read them. This is a great place to take a little chance and try something new. You will like it. There's Green Lantern number 28 this week.

And we get the Hawkgirl collected trade paperback, the Hoth set story arc in there, as well as the High Wayman trade paperback as well from DC. Infinity Ick number seven is this week. Jonah Hex number 29. And the Justice League new frontier special. What a great thing to have along as you watch for the third or fourth time hopefully,

the new frontier DVD. This is all new original material from Darwyn Cooke. There's also the Justice League unlimited number 43 for the all ages crowd. Midnight are number 17 and also from WildStorm the new Dynamix number one. That'll be a five-issue miniseries and there is a variant cover for that one. There's Knight wing number 142 this week. North Landers number four, as well as Skelpt number 15.

Supergirl hits number 27 and we get the Superman man of steel trade paperback volume number six for your bookshelf. Speaking of Titans, there's Teen Titans year one number three in that six-issue miniseries. And there's Final Underground number six, as well as Young Liars number one from DC. Devil's Dew Publishing. There's the Forgotten Realms, the trade paperback, Halflings Gem. That's number six in that collection. And the Halloween Night Dance number two, which comes with about three different covers.

Make sure you get the one you want there. Speaking of multi covers, our friends at Dynamic Forces have multi covers on most of these books this week, including Army of Darkness number seven. The Boys hit number 16. There's New Battlestar Galactica season zero number six. Bank of the Jane number five and Savage Tales number 12 from Dynamic. Over at Image, the first issue of Dead Space we talked about a couple of weeks ago, that'll be six issues by the time it's done.

Dynamo five by Ready to Celebrate Their First Anniversary. This is issue number 11 this week. There's Graveslinger number four, which winds up that miniseries from Image. Invincible Presents Adam Eve at number two winds up that one as well. And there's Overman number four. That'll be a five-issue run when it's done. And like we told you about a little bit earlier, Pox Romana, which is available online, is also available in a book you can actually buy and take home.

Pox Romana number two will be a four-issue miniseries when it's done from Image. There's Ride Divalgrade number three, which winds that one up and Scud the Disposable Assassin number 22 this week from Image. Over to Marvel, brand new day continues in Amazing Spider-Man number 522. Big week this week for number one. There's Cable number one this week, which includes a variant cover as well. There's also the Cable Classic Trade Paperbag to catch up on that.

Alan Davis' Clan Destine, it's number two in that five-issue miniseries. And of course, Dark Tower, the long road home. Dark Tower 2 premieres just hours from now. Unveiled at midnight tonight as well. And Jay Ling says he's just as excited now as he was a year ago. It's very nerve-wracking, but again, this is the most excited I've ever been working on a comic project. And I feel like I'm 18 again and just got my first job.

People have been waiting for that three-issue Wolverine miniseries for a while. Black and White, varying to that one, available as well. There's the Marvel Spotlight on Hamilton Martin this week. Marvel 2 in 1 hits number 9 for the All Ages group. And then there's Moon Knight number 16. Omega the Unknown at number 6. That'll be 10 issues when it's done. Penance Relentless winds up at issue number 5, and we get an issue of powers this week.

Number 28 comes from Marvel. Also there's the Punisher War Journal number 17. The Spider-Man back in black. Peter Parker. Trade paperback this week. Another great story you can catch all in one sitting. Speaking of great stories, the 12 continues this week with issue number 3 in that 12-issue series.

There's the Uncanny X-Men at number 496 this week with a variant as well and X-Force number 2, which has the bloody variant that comes along with it. Again, there's two different versions of that this week. Make sure you get the one you want. X-Men vs. Apocalypse is in a Trade Paperbag this week. That's available as well for Marvel. Also from Tomorrows this week, we get All to Regal. What a great read this is. Best of the Legendary Comics fanzine and some really nice stuff in there.

This week from Tomorrows. Alright, got a little leftover for DVDs. Well, you got some good choices this week. There's Into the Wild, which comes in two versions including a special one. There's Dustin in Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, Holly Barry and Things We Lost in the Fire. Also to DVD this week, Awake the Hogfather, Pistol Whip, Yes Another Steven Sidal.

He's still out there. Mark Wahlberg has the Kill Point and there's a special edition of Mrs. Doubtfire this week. In case you missed out on the first three or four of those that came out. We get Magnum PI season 8. This is the windup of that. It also has the pilot episode from the original Rockford Files. Nice piece of collecting there.

We get a special edition of 12 Angry Men. Disney has a special edition of the 101 Dalmatians. And we get season one, volume one of The Love Book. Winding down the TV on DVD this week. There's Saturday Night Live in the 80s. This is that special that ran just about a year ago on NBC. And also possibly what could be the shortest DVD ever.

Saturday Night Live, the best of 2006-2007. Which I believe is the same one that was offered just a few months back from the guys at Starbucks. Alright, here is how it goes. ComicMix Timeline. March 4th. In Comic Store this week, we wound up the miniseries that I actually forgot about. Remember DC vs Marvel? We got the wind up with issue number 4 this week.

There was also Adventures of Superman number 534 from DC. Direct from TV, there was the Batman and Robin Adventures of number 6. And also Batman Legend of the Dark Knight number 82. At Marvel, not to be outdone by MTV, we had Avengers Unplugged this week. We also got Captain America number 452, X-Men number 53 and Generation X hit issue number 16.

Dark Horse gave us the very first issue of Blade of the Immortal. At Image, we got the fifth issue of Black Ops. And Image's version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had a first issue this week as well. 1996. In the news, a suicide bomber killed 10 people in a Tel Aviv shopping center.

Actress Catherine Hepburn was hospitalized with pneumonia. And 11 cars of a freight train derailed in downtown Los Angeles, spilling diesel fuel all over the area. It will be ticket this week to get you in to see Rumble in the Bronx. There was Babe, the pig, not John Goodman. And there was down Periscope, Muppet Treasure Island and…

Hey, if I saw myself in clothes like those that have to kick my own ass… Yep, it's been that long since Happy Gilmore from Adam Sandler. TV Tonight had episodes of Second Noah, Third Rock from The Sun, Partners, Ned and Stacey. And if you think the show was annoying… She was walking in a bridal shop in Flushing, Queens, till her partner kicked her out in one of those crushing steams.

What she to do, where she to go, she's out on her family. And the theme song ranks right up there too. Brand Tresher's The Name. On the radio was a Milwaukee-based bar band that in 1987 Rolling Stone called the Best American Band. They put out a few albums and a couple of singles as well, but it took about three years for one particular single to finally get noticed.

It happened when the Fox TV show Party of Five picked this to be their theme song. Before you knew it, everybody was hummin' to the Bodines and closer to free.
