The Point Radio Hey, it's Mike Raub. Comedian Andrew Schultz is all over MTV with a bunch of different shows, including a new one that takes the dating game to a whole new level.

Plus, big numbers at New York Comic Con and big news too, including for Marvel TV. Let's get to The Point. This is The Point. The Point Radio.

Get The Point Radio. Comedian Andrew Schultz has made a home for himself at MTV, hosting a whole litany of gaming reality shows. So my first question to him was, how did all that start? They saw, I guess, a clip of me going to stand up

a woman in Lauren's inns who works on MTV. She asked me to do the MTV New Year's Eve Countdown a few years back. And I did that. And then the show Guy Code came along.

And Lauren recommended me for a guy code. And guy code just blew up. And then all these spin-offs are happening. We had Girl Code, which I'm also on. That's coming back for the second season.

Guy Code, the hook up, which was great. They brought me in to do that. And that's just a lot of fun, man. I just love just making fun of these kids, embarrassing people on national television.

Nothing better than that. So from shows like Guy Code and Girl Code, now he moves to Guy Code. Guy Code is a court show based on Guy Code. 100% real.

The clients that we bring in are basically kids who have real cases where they feel like their friends or boyfriends has violated Guy Code in some way. I mean, this is my favorite case is a group text. When you text like five or six people at the same time,

this guy hated when he gets group texts. So what he did is whenever his friends were group texts, then he would just text everybody a picture of his team. Hang on, I gotta delete this text. Go ahead.

I think this is the best way to get out of group texts, but it could be a Guy Code violation. So they brought it in. And Donnell Rawlings is the judge. I'm a lawyer and a bunch of the other Guy Code cast members

are lawyers as well. And we just kind of go at it in the courtroom where they can have each other or make in front of our clients and making fun of the judge, the crowd.

I mean, it's just, it's Guy Code to play. That's what it is. So at the end of it all, is there a court punishment? Oh, you get a punishment. You definitely get a punishment.

It really depends on your crime. So depending on what it is that you do, the punishment will be there. So I can't give away too much because I want people to tune in

to see what those punishments are. We go crazy. It gets physical. Andrew's new show combines love connection and dating game and social media as well.

It's called The Hook Up. It's based on the way that we date now. This whole idea, like you could find out who someone is before you actually date them. Like we need somebody,

the first thing we do is go online, check out their Facebook, check out all their post-op pictures, check out any videos that they have, check out their finds, check out Instagram, et cetera. So what I do is instead of sending people out on a date

to get to know each other, I dig up all the dirt that I possibly can on a bunch of people and then show that to the single and let her choose who she wants to date based on that. So instead of getting into a situation

where you find out a few months later, oh my God, this guy's crazy. He's an alcoholic. I don't want to be with this guy. I'm gonna show you he's an alcoholic.

He's got tons of videos of him, you know, doing tequila shots and snorting his salts and squeezing the lines in his eyes. So before he actually did stand up, was Andrew always that funny guy in the crowd?

I mean, I was always interested in being funny and I always loved jokes. I always appreciated comedians. Even when I was a kid, I just loved making people laugh, you know, I remember when I was young,

the first stand up I was introduced to was Eddie Murphy, Delirious, on cassette tape. And me and my dad would listen to Delirious on cassette tape. And I remember thinking, I was like, and my dad would just die laughing.

And I was like, man, I'm gonna make my dad laugh. I'm getting worse, he makes my dad laugh. So I think that probably had something to do with it. And then when I was in college, I was managing a restaurant while I was finishing up college

and they had a comedy night, they just asked me. And I was like, you know what, I'm gonna try it out. And then I just did it, man. All good comics have inspirations. And I asked Andrew about who his were.

My favorite ever in rest in peace is Patrice O'Neill, who passed away, but I thought he was the, I thought he was the best ever, man. I really thought he was the best ever. He's really the only guy that I've seen live.

And I've seen really, I've seen everyone live. Like last night, Chris Rock went up to me at a comedy show, you know what I mean? Like he just drops in the clubs all the time. So he's the only guy that's so live.

And I was like, I just felt like I was watching it at its purest form. Comedy can be kind of contrived. It can be like, you know, I was going to the park and then boom,

you didn't see that coming. But Patrice to me, like kind of tapped into his funny. He was like raw funny. So he wasn't trying, you know what I mean? There wasn't an act.

It was just like, everybody has funny in them. And he just found it. So he was just speaking funny. Chappelle speaks funny too. He's one of those guys where it's like,

he used to be on stage and he is funny. You know, you guys really tap into that, man. That's what I'm trying to do myself, which is really tap into that, find what it is that makes me funny

Pay attention here. No small amount of news this week. Here's the very latest in pop culture. After only a handful of years in existence, it looks like New York Comic-Con is truly

not only a competitor, but maybe a serious challenge to the San Diego Comic-Con. Numbers are in and it looks like the attendee numbers were equal to or maybe even a little above

what it went to San Diego this past summer. Officials for Reed Pop exhibition said they felt the crowds were impressive, but not oppressive during the weekend. From an attendee standpoint, crowds were large

and sometimes tough to manage. They've already set the date for next year's show. New York Comic-Con 2014 will be the ninth to the 12th of October. As you await the big Doctor Who 50th anniversary celebration

and the birth of a new doctor at the end of the year, Steven Moffat spoke to some folks over the weekend and said that there still will only be 12 doctors. There's only 12 regenerations possible. And we're quoting here, there's something you've all missed.

As fans run back to their DVD collection to see exactly what he means on that, there are tons of theories online, which you can certainly weigh in on. Meanwhile, plenty of cause to celebrate

with the rumor being true that there have been some lost episodes of Doctor Who found. Mostly from the 1967, 1968 era, there are 11 in all that'll be available soon on DVD, but if you can't wait, you can get them right now on iTunes.

Marvel uncorked a whole ton of big news. In New York Comic-Con at the top of the list was the return, sort of, of Miracle-Man, at least the completion of the series. Marvel will release Miracle-Man 25,

the issue which we've been told has been drawn and lettered and sitting around and unpublished for a number of decades. Neil Gaiman has given it his blessing, and Joe Cassata says that the plan will be to get this issue out in the hands of fans

sometime early in the new year, concluding the process by finally giving everybody the story arc that Neil Gaiman and artist Mark Buckingham started back in the 80s. And another Marvel news,

there's a whole slew of new Avengers titles, starting with Loki, Agent of Asgard. Also, in addition to that, there'll be a Black Widow series. And also an Avengers World ongoing series,

written by Jonathan Hickman and Nick Spencer, two fan-favored writers. The creators on Avengers Arena are moving over to a different title to replace that. That'll be Avengers Undercover.

And most of these changes will take place with new issues set early in the new year. With an increase of 30% more people watching and a rating well over 16 million, The Walking Dead is off to a great new start for the season.

And now there's even more news from the creator. Robert Kirkman's new series for image now has a name. It's called Outcast. It'll be written by Kirkman. Drawn by artist Paul Azizada and the new book,

which we're told has demonic possession included, will launch early in the new year. There's already been some interest, of course, in bringing this to television at the earliest opportunity. It's another couple of big names crossing over

in a new comic series, but this one not an event. It looks like an ongoing deal for both GI Joe and Transformers. In a new series, it will debut from IDW next summer with characters from both universes

teaming up on a regular basis in this new title. Again, it's set for release in about mid 2014. And IDW says to look at it more as a permanent crossover, more than just a team up. Magnus, Dr. Solar and the like now have yet another new home.

And this time it's Dynamite Entertainment who announced, plans to publish a series of books on those titles. The whole list includes Turok Dinosaur Hunter. Magnus, the occult files of Dr. Spectre and Solar Man of Adam.

They'll be launching all these early in the new year with a lot of the different talent involved, including Mark Wade, who'll be working on the Dr. Spectre title for Dynamite. Must be a frustrating week for the folks at Warner Brothers.

Marvel has announced they're prepping a new package of series and a mini series that's being shopped around about video on demand and cable networks. The series, the four that is, will each have 60 episodes. And that'll be the commitment,

whoever picks it up has to take. Right now Netflix seems to be the likely video on demand possibility. And of course several cable networks are more than likely being considered for this.

No word yet on what any of these series or the mini series would contain. Although agent Carter seems to be a pretty strong possibility in here with rumors of that going to series a few weeks back.

and also from Dark Horse, a new supernatural spy science fiction series called Shoot First that you might want to check out. From DC, the DC Essentials has Wonder Woman Number One from the new 52 available in a new $1 package.

Also Forever Evil Number One as a director's cut. And there's a Forever Evil Rogue's Rebellion special number one too as well. Plus the Joker Death and the Family hardcover is out this week for just under 30 bucks.

Back on the $1 deal with a $1 issue of Thunder Agents Classic from IDW. And the first issue of Star Trek Con 2 by the way is also from IDW this week. Image has Ghosted Number Three second printing
