Hello, it's Mike Raub. Welcome to The Point where all parts of pop culture come together. Being human, season two wrapped up on the DVD shelves. What about season three and what about that American version? And the greatest DC stories you've never heard in song. All that and more on Monday, September 27, 2010.

We get to The Point right now. This is The Point. The Point radio. Get The Point radio. Being human, season three is filming right now. And as the cast got back to work over the last few weeks, they discovered that they were going to be in a much different place

than they'd been before in the previous two seasons. Lenora Kuchlau explains her perspective. There's a level of acceptance and kindness. We're starting from a different footing in season three. We all kind of cannot only laugh at our conditions,

we're accepting them and we're kind of moving on. And so that gives you a chance to… There's a little bit more comfortability in our own state and we've got each other now. So it kind of feels a bit more… And you start with a level of acceptance.

You're not fighting me being possible anymore. Things that you can't change. We're all kind of right. Right, ghost, right, yeah, vampire and whale. We've got people that come in and we share… George is a wolf and there is a kind of everyday-ness now about that.

All that being said, Aiden Turner agrees it's still a fun place to go to work. I don't think it was ever anything but easy anyway. This job is super easy for all of us. It's a blessing because it's so enjoyable. It is a blessing to come to set every day and all that and hang out with friends.

And you know what I mean? I've never said this before. I stop. It's too early to get emotional. Now while season three is being filmed, Sci-Fi has ordered a 13 episode series of an American version of Being Human. So how do the original stars feel about that?

We think it's pretty cool. It's going to be a very different show I can imagine because they have money. We didn't have any of that really. They have a budget. It's Lucky Swines. But it will be a very different show. There will be tons more episodes.

It will be a very different show. But it's a huge testament to the power of being human. To the brand that is Being Human and to Toby with his amazing creative mind. And there's not fear of us. There is one little cool connection that they like.

Mitchell L. Edwards has a new sexy name as well which is really cool. He's going to be called Aiden in the new series. That's the truth. Being Human season three set to debut on the BBC next year. Season one and two available right now on DVD everywhere.

It's Monday September 27th 2010. Here's what's going on in pop culture. Michael Nyquist who you might remember from the European version of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is the latest edition to the cast of Mission Impossible. Also in the cast of course will be Jeremy Renner.

You will know him soon as Hawkeye. Paula Patton and of course Tom Cruise, Bing Rames and Simon Pegg as well. Brad Bird makes his very first live action directorial debut with this. Screenplay in case you forgot was written by guys from TV. Josh Appleton and Andre Nemec who've done things like She Spies, Alias and Life on Mars.

Hey it's the 80's all over again. At least according to tops are bringing back two of their more successful non-sport card releases of all time. The Garbage Pail Kids and Star Wars following the great success of the flashback series one. Garbage Pail Kids tops is issuing a second 80 card Kids of Flashback series of some of the vintage designs. And are also reviving the popular Star Wars Galaxy cards with an all new set of 120 foil stamped releases.

The new Garbage Pail Kids has lots of new collectible inserts, 3D cards and even some variants and sketch cards as well. The Star Wars Galaxy set has all new art, poster designs, comic book covers and production art and a lot more. Most of which has never been seen in a card set before. Both the Star Wars Galaxy and the new series of Garbage Pail Kids will be out from tops. Hopefully, it will be time for Christmas.

Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance, the sequel to the 2007 movie Yes with Nicolas Cage, debuts in 2012 and now will be shot in 3D as well. Mark Neveline and Brian Taylor who were the directors of Crank are also behind this one. They also wrote the script as you might recall for that Jonah Hex movie which doesn't bode well for either property. In the meantime, February 17th, 2012, the official release date for Ghost Riders Spirit of Vengeance in 3D.

Jumping on the Halo Reach bandwagon is now Hero Clicks. They're releasing a new product just to tie into it. It's the Halo Reach Action Clicks Noble Team Six Pack that reinvents the whole idea of Action Clicks by giving players new and exciting strategies to build your team and to play the game as well. The Six Pack includes all the Noble Team members and at the same time,

WizKids also has the Warthog Vehicle Pack with a highly detailed, pre-painted Warthog vehicle that you can take right out of the base and display it on your shelf as well. There's also game maps and special scenario rules as well plus new ways to play all coming hopefully from the guys at Action Clicks sometime in the next few weeks just in time to take advantage of Halo Reach Fever.

Folk around on the web for a band called Spoiler Alert. They write songs about DC Comics superheroes and only songs about DC heroes. They've got stuff out there like Booster Gold which is actually a very detailed retelling of his origin and another one like Batman which gives you a shot of what a day in the life of the Dark Knight is like. They're all unauthorized which means that at any time DC may just put the hammer down on this

and in no way does DC endorse these songs as well. You can go search around to find them at least while they're still available out there. There's a Batman, a Booster Gold like we said and a Blue Beetle song all of which came out in August with plans for more on the way. One of those nagging questions out there continues to be when is there going to be a Veronica Mars movie?

Well Kristen Bell wants to know as well and speaking when she was on the promotional tour for you again Kristen said she's willing to put the money up herself. With three million people watching the show every week she feels a series on the web or a big screen movie would really be a success and she's willing to finance it herself. Of course Kristen doesn't have the rights Warner Brothers does and at this point in time

Warner Brothers has admitted they have no plans to revive the series or the characters in any particular fashion although that could change at any moment. Chloe Moretz who you know as Hit Girl from Kickass now is stepping into another comic book world this time. The 1993 Cosmic Debris series that did so well in stores and has done pretty good also as a merchandising tool. Now is headed to the big screen co-produced by Mike Richardson from Dark Horse as well as the creator Rob Reger

and some other folks at Universal as well. No word yet on when we'll finally get this thing before the cameras. Getting somebody to be the star with an attachment to comics like Chloe is a pretty good start. Now script is the next step. This is Mike Gold.

What can happen when a television celebrity testifies before Congress? Of course he urges Congress to look at things the way he sees them. For example, money is tight and it has to be allocated carefully. So the celebrity might go to Congress to do a little song and dance. If he stays in his TV character, well, he's just using that to get his point across.

Most people who testify before Congress do so in their character, just not as a big celebrity. Case in point. Oh, guess what Elmo's thinking about today? The Education Appropriations Subcommittee had a celebrity testify urging creator spending on music research and musical instruments for school programs. Sesame Street's own Elmo stated he wanted to be sure that when he gets to school there will be instruments to play. He testified in 2002 as a friend of the Bush administration.

Elmo's testimony was welcomed because Congressmen wanted to look good to their grandchildren. Note to Stephen Colbert, you are no Elmo. Congress will understand you about as fast as they understand the plight of the migrant farm worker. This is Mike Gold on the Pop Culture Channel. GetThePointRadio.com. Might be a little extra work for you when you head into the comic book stores this week,

especially if you plan to follow our list of the five things you need to check out. It begins with Lady Death Premiere. This is the return of this character to Avatar Press with a special edition of his given out free at San Diego. It has now been available for a small fee to comic book stores. Not all retailers are going to carry this.

Some will. You may have to search around to get your copy or at least a page through to see exactly what the new revive. Lady Death looks like. Action Comics number 893 from DC this week is kind of interesting because it brings Chloe Sullivan from the Smallville TV show directly into the DC universe. That alone makes it well worth a look. Machete number zero from IDW is a prequel to the movie that's still getting a lot of buzz all over. So you may want to check that one out. Pilot season from Image Returns.

This time we get a feature called the Asset and the one shot that might be a regular series of enough people page through it. And also this week one of our favorite series from Marvel gets collected. Franklin Richards son of genius is collected in one great trade paperback. Check that out as well. All these can be yours at comic book stores throughout the world.

You can get all the information on the one closest to where you are with a comic book locator service and one 888 comic book or with a free app available right now in the iTunes store for your iPad or your iPhone.
