Hi, it's Mike Raub and word came down this week that DC closed the door on one of its comic lines Which one? And what's going to happen now? You'll find out coming up on September 25th 2008 ComicMix News Word came down earlier this week that DC has cancelled the Minx The young adult graphic line they've been publishing for the past few months
Since February 2007 to be exact Now there's some confusion as to what's going to happen with the comics that are still in the pipeline Have not been published yet Or even some that are still being worked on by some creators I'll expect a complete word on that later in the week and there is no comment yet officially on this from DC
You saw him all over the Emmys now he's in Marvel Comics not unlike a few decades ago when David Letterman had a spot Stephen Colbert joins forces in a new eight-page story in Amazing Spider-Man number 573 which is now an exercise issue Writer Mark Wade put him in as the presidential candidate in the Marvel Universe and teamed him up with Spider-Man Amazing 573 will be out in the next couple of weeks and here's a heads up by the way There's a bunch of different variants involved with this one including a zombie variant and a special limited edition Stephen Colbert variant drawn by Joe Cassata
Be sure to talk to your retailer to get the one you want Alan Moore spoke to the LA Times recently about the big problems involving the legal issues with the Watchmen movie And believe it or not he said that he's thrilled about these problems about the movie which is originally due to be out on March 6 2009 Two months after the trial date has been set for that case between Fox and Warner Brothers Moore who has little respect for a lot of things including the movie industry said that he's thrilled about the legal problems and plans on
Spitting Venom all over the place for months to come Well if you finally made peace with yourself about the fact that Warner Brothers moved the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince from November this year December next year here's a little piece of good news for you When the Half-Blood Prince finally hits theaters it'll also feature 25 extra minutes in IMAX 3D The film opens in theaters and in IMAX theaters as well on July 17 2009
And as long as you got your movie calendar out add Astro Boy to the list that film will be released in North America coming up on October 23 2009 The international release dates will be coming along soon and of course it's based on the long beloved Astro Boy character which a lot of people have waited to finally see in film Freddie Highmore is the voice of the title character The movie also features Nicolas Cage, Donald Sutherland, Nathan Lane, Bill Nye and Eugene Levy doing voices And their continuing effort to promote Star Wars the Clone Wars the Cartoon Network is doing house parties with families all around the country

When we tell you that just about everybody's in the comics these days we're not trying to beat the old cliche to death it's really getting to be true For example television star and stand-up comedian Margaret Cho When she's on tour around the country don't be surprised if you see her in the local comic book shop she has a lot of love for the medium I love it I mean it's amazing I really actually am a big comic book fan I'm more of the fan to graphics sort of alternative comic like Dan Claus and like Peter Bag and that sort of ilk of comics So that's sort of my understanding of comic books so this is like a totally different world too
Love and Rockets love those guys so great I love I'm in Linda Barry and you know that's sort of the comics that I read Right now Margaret is also working on her own super secret comic book project which she can't really talk about I think that you know I'm trying to work on a comic book and it's really something very different I mean it's all kind of information I'm learning about it all now And it's a whole world that I never really considered so it's a lot easier for her to talk about what's happening in her TV career Well I am a TV show called the Cho Show and then I'm also on tour with my stand-up show Beautiful which is all over the place and so
As you can probably tell Margaret doesn't do anything just basically even her TV show has a twist It's a comedy show it's like a reality sitcom it's like a reality show but it's more like a sitcom it's very much like a sitcom It's starring real people so it's very good and it starts myself and my parents and it's really funny and so that'll be on VH1 Until we get some more news on her comic you can follow Margaret as she travels all around the country these days I go I'll be doing all over the East Coast and Canada in the fall like I'll be doing Radio City Music Hall and then the big big tour of Canada

It started the Teen Titans all over again we got issue 2 this week Remember Superboy and the Ravers that hit issue 3 this week as well We got the third Starman annual Flash number 119 and Hitman number 8 from Marvel Well it was the Onslaught period in Marvel history even though you may want to forget it this week It was Avengers number 2 as well as Iron Man number 2 in those restarts
We got Generation X number 22 Punisher number 14 Rise of the Apocalypse number 3 from Marvel and more X-Men fun in Wolverine number 108 Image gave us the first issue of Darkness and Glory number 18 and Kurt Busiek's Astro City number 4 And from Dark Horse we got Body Bags number 1 1990 In the news the prime suspect and the kidnapping and murder of 6 year old Adam Walsh died in prison but police said the case remained open
Amy Fisher told a judge that since she had been in jail for the shooting of her boyfriend's wife she'd been raped by her prison guards And Russian Prime Minister Yeltsin faced a 10 week hospital stay due to a heart ailment In the movies there was the first Wives Club last man standing bullet proof Demi was in strip tease Michael Keaton was in multiplicity and Tom got his hands on a long loved property Still not happy about what they did to Jim Phelps in the first of the Mission Impossible movies
TV Tonight had episodes of Ellen, The Nanny, John Laracette, Wings, Party of Five and Drew Carey with the theme everybody loves On a radio a lady born in Wales who began playing piano at the age of 6 but had no idea that down the road she'd break some major records in the music business Her very first single landed on the hot 100 at Billboard at number 2 and stayed there for 9 weeks but that wasn't all 1996 She then shot off 1 to the number 1 spot and stayed there for 13 weeks
