Bodhi Rising

Bodhi has known since he was five that his daily treatments with the erythropoietin pump wouldn’t work forever. He is dying. He knows it. His mother, Harper, knows it. Even his overly-friendly tries-to-hard “father”, Aiden, the reclusive multi-billionaire, knows as well. All the money in the world can’t save him, or so he believes. One day, though, when he forgets to eat and nearly dies as a consequence, his mother reaches out to his father, a bioengineering doctor who she helped revolutionize the modeling industry. Bodhi’s father, and the company that she worked so hard to flee during the previous novel, Models and Citizens, has a solution. It’s controversial, and there’s only one other person in the entire planet of Earth who has undergone the same: Christine Hamilton, heiress Gallatin Hamilton’s extensive fortune.

When Bodhi meets Christine, the two hit it off and are inseparable until she decides to fulfill her family obligation of learning to be the heiress she’s supposed to be and enrolls in Fouriedon University. Bodhi follows quite a different calling and tries to right what he views as the wrong of their treatment. In his mind, someone had to die for him to live, and that’s not okay. Christine’s path takes her into the modeling and cloning industries, where models are being created to shore up the fledgling Immortality program, while Bodhi is singularly focused on finding another way. As a terrorist organization closes in on them both, they both face the slow realization that their chosen paths not only pull them apart, but make them enemies. Love, deceit, and betrayal saturate the pages of this science fiction novel that blurs the boundaries of reality and virtual reality.
