Exit Zero

Leo Anders has always carried the shadow of his brother’s disappearance. A survivor of a workplace turned labyrinth, Leo thought he had left the whispers of “You were never here” behind. Naomi Brooks, haunted by the cursed town of Hollow’s Edge and the loss of her best friend Lena, knows the price of forgetting. Teresa Alvarez of KSPS carries scars from Room 19, a site so dangerous it threatened to erase her soul. When their paths collide, each survivor discovers that the Thresholds-liminal gateways feeding on compliance and memory-are not isolated. They are connected, alive, and still growing.

Their fragile alliance is shaken when Elias Anders reappears, bringing with him a child: Theo, marked with the number 3:13 and carrying visions of an endless Archive where the forgotten are kept. Through Theo’s eyes, the survivors glimpse the entity’s design-a Custodian who wears their faces, who twists their histories, and who waits in the stitched heart of all Thresholds.

Together, they journey back into Room 19, where shifting hallways, false doubles, and echoing verdicts seek to fracture them. Each step forces them to confront what they’ve lost, what they remember, and what they must be willing to sacrifice. When the entity lashes out through Theo, threatening to claim the boy forever, they must anchor one another with their names, their truths, and their defiance.

With mirrors that smile, hallways that breathe, and clocks eternally frozen at 3:13

Exit Zero fuses psychological terror with liminal horror in a relentless final battle. The survivors must answer the ultimate question: can they end the Threshold, or are they doomed to be rewritten by it?

Heartbreaking, atmospheric, and horrifying, this novel closes the cycle of the Vanishing and the Vacancy in a climactic confrontation where memory is weapon, resistance is survival, and forgetting is death.
