From the Desk of Maine

John Cross spent decades working as a court clerk in Massachusetts, where he witnessed the full spectrum of human experience. Now retired, he brings those insights to life in his debut collection of short stories. A native of LaGrange, Illinois, and a graduate of Cornell University and Boston University, John blends his background in law, journalism, and fiction to create emotionally rich, thoughtful, and often humorous stories. With compassion and keen observation, he explores the complexities of justice, family, love, and personal growth. This book marks the beginning of a long-held dream and a new chapter in storytelling
