The Holy Sperm refers to the imperial and religious history of Iran-a history shaped by the constant struggle of rulers and their followers to secure power for their sons, heirs, or spiritual successors. This theme has long stood in contrast with merit-based values and has deeply wounded the nation through the recurring curse of so-called “good genes.” In this work, accompanied by its illustrations, the story of Iran-both real and mythical-is told with humor and irony, tracing the nation’s journey from its earliest days to the present. It reflects on how, time and again, Iran’s misfortunes and missed triumphs can be traced back to this sorrowful, ever-repeating tale.
