Maedes and The Pursuit of Omnipotence: Book 1: The Keeper’s Brother

Description

When death itself begins to falter, even the gods are no longer safe.
In Maedes and The Pursuit of Omnipotence, Zyier M. Small reimagines Greek mythology through the eyes of Maedes, the reluctant son of Hades, who is drawn into a crisis that threatens the very foundation of existence. Souls are no longer passing on. The natural order is unraveling. And the Underworld, long ruled by law and consequence, trembles on the edge of collapse. As Maedes navigates divine conflict, ancient power, and his own fractured inheritance, he must decide whether he will remain bound by fear or rise to confront forces that seek to control life, death, and everything between.

Rooted in a lifelong passion for mythology and shaped by the enduring lessons of teachers, history, and storytelling, this novel carries the timeless themes of struggle, justice, and resilience. Written with the spirit of Haiti in mind, it echoes the strength of a people who persist through chaos and hardship, much like the heroes of old. Maedes and The Pursuit of Omnipotence is not only a mythological journey through gods and realms, but a powerful reminder that even in the face of imbalance and suffering, hope endures and heroes still rise.
