Raiden: Guardian of Lightning: The irregular universe

A superhero. A demigod. A Guardian, the liaison between the gods and humanity, caught between the modern world and the gods of mythology.

Hania Hawke is an irregular-a super-powered being living in a world that still hasn’t decided what to do with people like him. Gifted with the power of lightning, Hania chooses to use his abilities to protect others, taking on the name Raiden.
But becoming a superhero comes with consequences.

Raiden’s growing publicity-and the fact that he is the first Guardian to have godly blood flowing through him-draws the attention of Kagutsuchi, the Emperor of Fire.

Now Raiden faces his first true enemy while trying to protect the people closest to him. Between learning what it means to be a Guardian, dealing with the expectations of the gods, and figuring out who he really is, Raiden is about to discover that having power doesn’t necessarily mean knowing how to use it.

Especially when the people he loves become targets.
With a smart mouth, a stubborn streak, and enough lightning to make the gods take notice, Raiden is about to find out just how far he’s willing to go to protect his own.
Greek. Yoruba. Indigenous. Norse. Japanese.
The gods are real.
And Raiden is about to find himself caught in the middle of their plot.

Raiden: Guardian of Lightning is the first book in The Irregular Universe, a mythology-infused superhero fantasy series blending ancient gods, modern heroes, supernatural powers, found family, secret identities, and a wisecracking protagonist who isn’t afraid to fight something far more powerful than himself.
