The Days Are Just Packed: A Calvin and Hobbes Collection Volume 9

Summer adventures, backyard antics, and Calvin’s philosophical musings fill The Days Are Just Packed, a collection brimming with imagination, laughter, and moments that balance comedy with genuine childhood reflection.

Idle summer days burst with adventure in The Days Are Just Packed, covering April 1991 to November 1992. Calvin dreams up fantastical machines, spars with Susie in mischievous pranks, and dives into chaotic Calvinball matches, while Hobbes offers warmth, wit, and sharp perspective. Camping trips, cardboard-box inventions, and philosophical musings highlight Watterson’s imaginative storytelling and expressive artistry, bringing everyday childhood moments vividly to life.

From bike rides and snowmen to backyard explorations, ordinary experiences transform into extraordinary escapades. Black-and-white dailies and vibrant Sunday strips reveal Watterson’s unmatched ability to mix humor, reflection, and a touch of chaos, capturing both the comedy and wonder of childhood.
