During the last half of the eighties, The Gray Area ran on the pages on the The Arizona Daily Wildcat, shattering the glass floor and paving the way for dozens of low-quality student cartoons like itself to flood the last page of the paper. Even though it appeared last on the page, it was the cream of the crop of the bottom of the barrel. It received the smirks of teachers and students alike, who clipped and taped trophy specimens to jambs of door and window.
