The Great Adventures of Raja and Darby McGraw – The Gift

My children’s book tells a story about a little girl growing up in the Fiji Islands and her journey of coping with her mother battling depression. As a child my imagination became my refuge before and after my mother’s passing, I created this world of magical adventures with our dog to fill the loneliness and the hopelessness of not being able to save her,

This book is an honest reflection of my childhood. While working on a memoir twelve years ago, I realized that this story could be a foundation of a meaningful children’s book series.

Many children like Darby McGraw may find comfort and hope in her stories. These books aim to show that not everyone has an ideal childhood, and that they are not alone. I hope that Raja and Darby McGraw series will resonate with children and become one of the successful storybooks with this important message.
