Like most people, I enjoyed the heck out of Iron Man 3; it was fast, loud, noisy, and things blew up really well. The handoff from Jon Favreau to Shane Black was a step in the right direction and the casting was superb. The movie, out now from Paramount Home Video, is definitely a sequel…
Somebody needs to save us all, so why not Sean Hayes? We talk to Sean about his busy summer producing and why he is back in front of the camera again in SEAN SAVES THE WORLD. Plus Hugh Jackman and Maria Bello explain why their roles in PRISONERS were so difficult, and is Sharon Carter…
My good friend Martha Thomases, as usual, wrote an interesting column this week on her way to the Baltimore Con. She wrote about choosing what to wear at the Con and that, in turn, set me to thinking and provided grist for my own essay mill. Some weeks I need a lot of grist. Something…
The Zone 4 podcast crew of Brant Fowler, Gordon Dymowski, and Captain Ron Fortier, return. Episode #230 shines a light on some books and online comics they are enjoying that are not from the “big two,” Marvel and DC. Everything from Dark Horse, to Thrillbent, to Action Lab, to Bottled Lightning and more! But before…
A week or so ago I was talking about how in the Man of Steel movie they had Superman kill someone. No spoiler alert: if you haven’t seen the movie yet, it’s your own damn fault. It did violate one of the traditional tenets that marked Superman as Superman – he doesn’t kill. Lots of…
Finally got around to seeing Iron Man 3 this week (which I enjoyed). Yeah, I know. We’re way behind on our movie viewing at this url. At the rate we’re going, we won’t see Man Of Steel until Labor Day. In any case, I was struck by the underlying premise of the movie and certain…
NBC’s new summer series, CROSSING LINES gives us a crime drama with a worldwide perspective. Actor William Fichtner and the show’s creators talk about what makes this one worlds apart from it’s competition. Plus Downey is IRON MAN for awhile and the New Doctor may be just six degrees away. This summer, we are updating…
To the surprise of few, Marvel announced on their website today that Robert Downey, Jr. would don the armor at least two more times. What’s interesting is that the two films he signed for are Avengers 2 and Avengers 3, the latter of which has yet to be given a formal green-light or spot on…
James Rhodes, a.k.a. War Machine, is the Marvel character also known as the black Iron Man. I have absolutely no opinion of War Machine. I do, however have an opinion of James Rhoades – but not the character James Rhodes. The James Rhoades I’m talking about is graduating from UCLA today (today being June 16th…
On June 4, Gazillion’s Marvel Heroes MMOARPG launched to the public. And I’m here to tell you that it’s a heck of a lot of fun to play, especially if you are a Marvel fan. Marvel Heroes is a free-to-play PC game featuring a story written by Brian Michael Bendis (which begins with a set…
Founded in 2007, Radical Studios is a multimedia company that incubated comic books for exploitation in other forms. Among their earliest releases was Hercules, boasting a Steranko cover, and it came with high production values and a bit of a buzz., The character returned for a second miniseries in and this interpretation captured Hollywood’s fancy….
