www.ComicMix.com We still don't know what it is or where it comes from but there's something there. Broadcasting Direct from the Land with the biggest show on TV this week had a one-legged woman dancing her heart out. Hi, it's Mike Raub in the middle of the week with the podcast and a biggie for you. We have one of the WWE's biggest
stars plus the top dog from Battlestar Galactica a little trip back in time to see Grandpappy Amos and a lot more. All that on March 29 2007. ComicMix. DC has announced something that's pretty exciting for both comic collectors and toy collectors the Shazam action figure set and here's how it's gonna run you got to
pay attention because it might be a little confusing you don't want to miss anything. The set includes of course Captain Marvel, Captain Marvel Junior, Dr. Savannah with Mr. Mind in that pack and a Billy Batson and Hoppy the Marvel Buddy two-pack. In addition there's a Mary Marvel action figure of course but there's also a very special Mary Marvel variant action figure that
has her in her white costume from now. The original figure of course has her back in her red costume. Now you may have to talk to your retailer about what you actually want here because people in comic stores have to order these and all sorts of different things and jump through a bunch of hoops that DC has set up to make sure they get the two packs and the variants. Let them know soon
knowers are due very quick and you don't want to miss out on that really cool little Mary in the White dress figure. A sad note this week as we mark the passing of artist Marshall Rogers who died at the age of 57. He was known as one of the big radical artists back in the 70s when he took Batman to great heights doing a story arc fans still remember fondly called the Joker fish
story and a lot of other great stuff as well including more of depictions of Batman in secret origins. He did the Batman newspaper strip for a while. He also worked for Marvel illustrating Dr. Strange, G.I. Joe, Howard the Duck and a long run on Silver Surfer. Lately he did the Green Lantern Evil's Might miniseries and he was back for a five-part Legends of the Dark Knight Batman series and of
course he reteemed last year with Steve Engelhardt for the Batman Dark Detective which followed up that Joker story we talked to you about. Marshall Rogers a great talent again dead at 57. Well there's some very interesting casting rumors and some news to bouncing around the internet. First of all according to MTV there's more truth than rumor to the story the both Johnny
Depp and Antonio Banderas are going to get roles in Sin City 2. Now the interesting thing here is because as a prequel most of the original actors will have a chance to reprise their roles as well. No shooting has begun of course but Frank Miller has reportedly completed the script for Sin City 2 and Tom Welling from Smallville is said to be doing the next Teen Wolf movie following
in the paw prints of Michael J Fox and Jason Bateman. No release or shooting schedule yet for that one. comics.com Hello this is Mick Foley author of the new book the hardcore diaries and this is Comic Mick. He's been a mainstay in the WWE for almost a decade and arguably he
is the most beloved figure in pro wrestling today. He is Mick Foley. You know with the WWE's biggest event WrestleMania just a couple of days away it seemed like a great time to talk to Mick. He's released his newest book the hardcore diaries which is available in stores everywhere and after this and several other best sellers that included some illustrated children's books too.
My biggest question is why isn't he writing comics? Oh yeah yeah you know back when the mankind comic came out was that chaos comic in like 98 it never even dawned on me that hey maybe I should write this thing myself and then I ended up writing an autobiography and a bunch of other books so hey I don't know if there's a need for it I had been thinking about writing a graphic novel
because honestly when I was at a couple comic book conventions last year I saw that none of the people coming up to me had novels I had written but I was like you know what I bet you if I did a graphic novel a lot of these fans would pick it up so it is something I've been looking into. Check out Mick who will surely have a part in WrestleMania this Sunday seven o'clock on pay-per-view.
ComicMix dot com ComicMix timeline March 29th 1962. What a week for comics you could grab adventure comics number 296 and see Superboy go back in time to become Benjamin Franklin's super reporter it was that classic mystery in space that had the JLA Adam Strange team up mystery in space 75 hit this week there was a really cool issue of Ro High Kid number 28 with no less than three
Jack Kirby stories in there and we got the first issue of Brain Boy from Dell Comics. In news President Kennedy was angry that House Republicans wanted to kill his tax revisions. Negotiators at a 17-nation disarmament conference assigned Russia and America to draft a preamble for a treaty to end the world's arms race and actor Billy Gray was arrested. Gray best known for being bud and
father-knows-best was arrested for drunk driving but pleaded innocent. It's a And Moeshe if you're old enough you got to see Lolita or if you were young enough to get scared you went to premature burial and everybody wanted to go see one of those great early 60s classic westerns. When Liberty Valance rode to town the women folk would hide, they'd hide.
On TV it ranged from the lovely Donna Reed to the not so lovely Broderick Crawford in Highway Patrol. Hazel in the middle and on the other end Graham Pabienus. When you flicked on the radio this guy was just months away from signing to appear in the movie version of Bye Bye Birdie. But right now Bobby Rydell was
chubing up the charts with I've Got Bonnie. And sweet sweet Bonnie made all my dreams come true. Hi this is Jamie Bamber and you're listening to ComicMix. Yep, that really is Jamie Bamber Lee Apollo Adama from Battlestar Galactica of course. Let me give you a minute to wrap your mind around the fact that Jamie actually has a strong
British accent in real life. In a lot of ways though he feels he's very similar to the character we see on the show. And fans are still reeling from the season 3 ender just days ago so we had to ask Jamie first about the work he's done over the past few months and what he thought of it. I was extremely proud of the work that the writers put at the beginning of the season because it was an area we hadn't been to before which is you know our story is about a gang on the run really. And to have them settle somewhere and to try and build a life and to look at what that means and society. I mean they were building a town and a society and the little insight you got into the way that the work is retreated and I thought it was a really bold move.
I remember being a bit worried about whether we could actually pull that off because you know the image of the show that you have in your mind is the ragtag fleet floating around in space desperately running from the silence. And the whole idea of settling on Capitol Hill you sort of ignore the silence for a bit and then of course they turn up and then the show goes into a different area which I was equally thrilled by. You know the boldness with which they dealt with the suicide bombings and stuff like that which is very controversial but you know when our show does that and causes column inches to be written and people to be shocked I think that's when we're all happy. We also talked to Jamie about the fact that some fans felt the show dipped a little too far into the soap opera world this season. I know a lot of people didn't really go for the more romantic storylines in the love quadrangle or whatever.
To me that was one of the things I was proudest of with Lee and I think the reason why people don't like it is they don't like to see their larger than life heroic characters brought to their knees by the heart. But that's the truth of life. I think that's the most vulnerable part of our anatomy for most people. Our relationships in the show are never purely the relationships so they're not so operatic in that sense because they always have a social repercussion because these characters are pivotal within the fleet. Their relationships are much more than affairs of their heart. They are illicit affairs and uniforms with superiors with people that you're commanding. People that day in day out affect the very social structure of the fleet.
They're more interesting than I think a lot of people have made them out in those message boards and I disagree with the overall prognosis that they were so operatic. Fans are thrilled about Syfy's choice of expanding season 4 to 22 episodes plus there's that 2 hour DVD movie event planned for the fall. What's next after that? I think it's not, I don't think I'm shocking the world by saying this is probably going to be the last year for Battle Star Surfing after that. Life moves on and I'm very excited. I just moved to LA and I'm excited about producing some stuff of my own and trying to develop material. I've learned a lot from the guys who make Battle Star and I think it's been a huge learning curve that's going to affect me and better stuff than I otherwise would have been for sure.
We'll talk more to Jamie in the weeks to comment on Saturday on the podcast. We're going to review that season finale so if you haven't watched it yet, don't be spoiled. Grab the Tivo. Start watching right now. ComicMix.com Alright attention everybody, gather round. They all gather round me. Gather round me boys. Gather round.

Love the Manx Cat it's a great book so far , I can't wait for the next installment. The best characters are the Goblyn's St. John of Knives and St. Dryden. It would be great to see them in an ongoing monthly book. Thanks
Possible Spoiler…Has anyone noticed the eerie resemblance that The Lord Protector has to a Renegade Gladiator from 'Jacks time period? Aforementioned putz had a liking for demon gold, too! The more things change the more they stay the same. One more thing…betcha Hugh and Noleski have alot in common also.
On page 94, bottom-left panel, there is a picture of Hugh saying, "Mathe will have a plan, Hugh…." I sounded to me this was a line which should have come from Ben. It seems inconsistant with what Hugh says in the prior panel, he goes from young hot-head to wise sage voice. Am I wrong?
