From the list…Birds of Prey, Cold Case. Not on the list…Key West, The Gallant Men, Name of the Game
Just got the very nifty Complete Man From UNCLE as my combo Christmas/Next Birthday gift from my parents. Very nice packaging and lots of good stuff to watch. Wish they'd included not just one but all of the theatrical UNCLE movies, as a few of them had extra material added. Maybe they'll do that as a later set. As for those others mentioned, while I'd love to see "Pushing Daisies", my fav of the season, on DVD, I'd be happy to just get new episodes, but I don't see that happening until probably 2009, if ever. And what else would I add? Boston Blackie, Name of the Game, the rest of Night Court and The Bob Newhart Show, WKRP (uncut and with all the music), Diana (can never have too much classic Diana Rigg), Townies (I'm sure no one else will agree, but for Jenna Elfman and Molly Ringwald?), Hawaiian Eye, Batman season 3, My Friend Irma (I know that one will never happen), The Complete Jack Benny, full seasons of The Dean Martin Show, and so many more I could go on forever. At least I know a couple shows I've been wanting, Newhart and My Living Doll, are coming soon.
"Birds of Prey"Actually, it's not so much that the theatrical releases had stuff added, it's that the versions shown on USA teevee were cut.A fine distinction, but of some interest.I've seen five of them, i think. (In some cases, i *didn't* see the teevee version…)
I'll let the new stuff sort itself out but a couple oldies I would like to see are Honey West and Burke's Law. Plus some additions to the public domain 1950s Flash Gordon or are most of those considered to be "lost."
While out on DVD in the UK for a while, both the complete Honey West (one of my all-time faves) and Burke's Law season 1 were recently announced for release here later this year by VCI. Also, along that '60's detective line, Mannix season 1 was just announced. Can't wait for that!
"Journey to the Unknown" – though i have a line on a bootleg source for that.
