Broadcast 166. ComicMix.com ComicMix Radio On the most fantastic high of all! Dick, this is a toy you've got there! They might be packing their boxes up at Toy Fair in New York, but we're not done yet.

Hi, it's Mike Raub from ComicMix Radio, and we've still got plenty to share. If you've seen the pictures on ComicMix.com the past couple of days, you know there's a line of amazing new World of Warcraft figures coming from DC Direct. Stand by for the story behind the detail, plus another new way to play! Hello, no man.

All that and more on February 21st, 2008! ComicMix News! There are just nine issues left of Countdown to Final Crisis from DC, and now a couple of different projects have been announced to take place after that, of course. And in the meantime, there's a few things to help us bridge the gap.

One of those will be DC Universe Zero, priced at just 50 cents, and hitting the stores right around Free Comic Book Day, DC Universe Zero is going to be written by Grant Morrison and Jeff Chons. Featuring artwork from George Perez, Tony Daniel, J.G. Jones, and a lot more, this issue will bridge the gap between Countdown and Final Crisis,

and contain just about all the heroes of the DC Universe. Then later on in May, Final Crisis begins with the first issue being 40 pages, and two covers will be on that, both by J.G. Jones, and they'll be shipped to stores in an equal ratio, which means you should have had a pretty easy chance of getting both those covers.

In addition to Final Crisis, also later in March will be the final Crisis sketchbook. It's a behind-the-scenes look at the process of creating this title, with a lot of sketches by Jones and a lot of hints as to what's to come down the line in DC's Final Crisis. No surprise here with all the hoopla, but Fantastic Four, number 554,

the first one by Malar and Hitch, has now sold out at Marvel, and there's a second printing quickly on the way that's going to contain some of Hitch's interior artwork as a variant cover. Look for it to be in the stores sometime in the next three weeks from Marvel. That's when you thought it was safe to escape from Fox.

American Idol is following you over to iTunes. iTunes will contain audio and video performances as single song snippets the day after they perform on the year on American Idol. You can buy these on iTunes for $1.99 each, starting on March the 11th. Nickelodeon's Dora the Explorer is going to live action,

and to prime time in a new prime time movie, by the way. The live action TV movie will feature, of course, a lot of CG special effects. They're looking right now to find the perfect actress to play Dora. Right now you can get information on that at Nickelodeon.com. A little quick toy fair side note, Bandai America showcased some really nice action figures at the show,

including a new line of Digimon toys scheduled for release in fall 2008. There's also a new Ben 10 toy line featuring alien figures in the 4-inch size, DNA alien heroes and a lot more. Can you believe it's been 16 years for the Power Rangers? There's a new toy line on the way, this time based on Power Rangers Jungle Fury,

which begins on the Toon Disney Network on Saturdays coming up in a couple of months. And there's also a new line of DragonBall Z toys on the way from Bandai America. Hello, this is Mick Foley, author of the Hardcore Diaries, and this is… …ComicBitch Radio. One of the great things about Toy Fair 2008 was not necessarily just all the brand new things,

but some of the established licenses that are going above and beyond with some very cool things in the next few months. Just like on the internet, the world of Warcraft has been red hot for DC Comics and red hot on the toy market for DC Direct as well. Design director Jim Fletcher was proud to show off what's on the way in round two. The first wave did extremely well for us. They went out pretty fast.

The first one we've got is a human warrior has a shield. These arrows will be placeable by whoever buys it. You can put them in those little holes. Second, you can put the arrows in wherever you want them. Very intense fighting pose. You've got the… over there, the gnome warrior is on his mechanostrider,

and he's wielding this story called Ashbringer, which is very important in the World of Warcraft game. That was a great figure to do. Again, it's super detailed. I've seen some of these pictured on ComicBitch.com over the past couple of days, but believe me when I tell you, the sculpts and the detail are nothing but amazing. The troll priest is this guy over here, Zaba Hex. He's got a staff back there.

I think he's my favorite one in this whole line. I just love his face. He's just those big… that's my main character. It's a troll. So that's why I like it. Jim is a wild player himself, so his enthusiasm is genuine. In the game when you play, they're obviously, you know, they're somewhat pixelated on the screen, but when the actual designs for these characters are extremely detailed,

and Blizzard, it just does an amazing job with supplying with reference. And the sculptors have really met the challenge, stepping it up to the next level. And it goes outside our usual sandbox of stuff that we play in, because, you know, ours are usually more traditional superheroes. But I mean, Superman usually don't have any, unless they're wearing some kind of crazy armor.

They don't have this kind of detail. That's what's so cool about these figures, is they're just amazing. One more thing, in addition to the single figures, there are also some great-looking box sets on the way as well. The box sets are basically just figures that are just too big to put at a regular price point, but they're also very important to the game. Illidan Stormrage is one of the main bosses. He actually is the main boss from the first.

And just because, you know, they're all different-sized characters, they can't all just fit in a regular box. If they go outside a certain parameter, then they're deluxe figures. World of Warcraft figures from DC Direct at the next wave on the way and in stores sometime during the spring of the summer. This year. One way that board games have evolved in the new millennium have been with the advent of DVD games.

And in particular, Scene It, which began… 2002, we launched our first game, which is a movie edition, and we have just gone up from there. She's Carrie Peters from Screen Live Games, the people that bring you Scene It. And in case you've never played that before, here's the basics. Scene It is a DVD-based board game, so you have your traditional board game,

and then you have the DVD element, which includes clips and trivia, so people can watch their favorite movies and answer trivia questions from the clips. You might recall that among their movie and TV versions, Scene It also did a great version based on Marvel Comics. That was a great game, which is still available in stores. Marvel Comics, it includes all the popular Marvel characters and the great Scene It play. So what was their big reveal at Toy Fair?

For 2008, we're doing a Seinfeld edition of Scene It, we're doing a Star Trek edition of Scene It, and a Disney Channel edition of Scene It. Believe me when I say the Star Trek game covers a lot of ground. Yeah, Star Trek encompasses all the Star Trek films, television, spanning years of Star Trek. Enterprise, Captain Kirk. Look for the Seinfeld and the Star Trek Scene It's in stores very soon, and the Marvel Comics game is in stock right now.

We've got a winner! ComicMix Radio! The winning continues here at ComicMix Radio with another person already to latch on to a Graham Crackers comic exclusive, varied edition. These are all hot titles like Angel After the Fall, Captain America, Transformers and so much more. And of course, Graham Crackers Comics has nine stores to serve you in the Chicagoland area. Not around there, not a problem. You can get them anywhere on the planet at GrahamCrackers.com.

Alright, here's the question that we ask, and what comic did the question first appear? Now we didn't need an issue number or a date, just a title. And our winner was Sal Loria. Thanks Sal, we're going to be in touch, and thanks to all of you who emailed. Now get ready for another chance to win, but first the rules real quick. All emails must be in by the deadline we give you, and duplicate emails don't count.

We choose one winner from all those who have the correct answer. Alright, are you ready? There's no doubt the world of Warcraft has now expanded from the internet into hot comics and beautiful action figures. But what was the name of the first World of Warcraft game released by Blizzard Entertainment in 1994? We need just the name of the game. That's it. Get it to us by the deadline, which is 9 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, Saturday, February 23rd.
