Broadcast 259. ComicMix.com! ComicMix goes exclusive. ComicMix 3.0! Hi, it's Mike Raub. They're limited editions, extremely so. They're beautiful and the material has never seen for it before.

And it's only available at, well, I can't tell you that yet. Stick around though, the news is coming up on September 13th. 2008. ComicMix used. The Bermuda Triangle, the Arctic Vortex, Stonehenge, and the Devil's Triangle all get to be players in a new series coming from IDW called Lost and Found. Written by Beau Smith and drawn by Gary Kwapis, you'll find a lot of interesting things in here, including cowboys, dinosaurs, army men, Indians, Nazis, Zulu warriors, pirates, and even a sea monster as well, all packed into 22 pages.

But for scientific time travel adventure in Lost and Found from IDW in comic stores coming in November. First this week, it was the all-star Batman and Robin and now Arden Entertainment's Flash Gordon number one has suffered a printing error that forces all copies of the book to be destroyed. It was set to be released, well, just about a month ago or so, and it actually went to press early in July as well, but it still didn't stop a mistake. That'll cause all the copies to be destroyed. The first faulty issues, though, have been distributed a bit in the US, and Arden is requesting that if any retailer or comic fan has offered these faulty copies for sale, they contact Arden Entertainment immediately.

There will be a reward for anyone who reports the sale of these copies. The new version of Flash Gordon number one will hit stores on September 24th with issue two coming just about a week later. Meanwhile, probably wouldn't hurt to Jack eBay to see there's a couple of those first issues lingering over there. All the news channels are having fun with this. Hero Builders, who specializes in political action figures, sold mainly on their own website, is steered directly into the heat of the latest news stories with Sarah Palin action figures all in this series.

Now, again, we don't explain them. We just read them. There's three figures in here that include Sarah in a pantsuit, a schoolgirl outfit, and a superhero costume. They range just about 30 bucks to a pop. They also produce Barack Obama and John McCain action figures as well.

If you'd like to see some visuals there at hero builders dot com. Hey, who says that hanging around on Facebook or MySpace can't lead to something? You remember Lonely Girl 15, whose real name was Jessica Rose? Well, her newest show called Sorority Forever has been launched this week on the WB dot com. It's kind of a soap opera, kind of a mystery, but it's interesting because there's involvement here from Mick G, the guy who did the Charlie's Angels movies,

and new episodes appeared daily at 9 a.m. on the WB dot com and then later on on MySpace TV and other places on the web. Meanwhile, she has a second new series. It's another web-only show produced for HBO and premiering on the web right around October 1st called Hooking Up. Cor Verbinski, you remember him, of course, from the Pirates movie while he's back working with his old buddy Johnny Depp on a CG animated feature. This is his first called Rango, double play the title character in this, which they're describing as an adventurous pet, which is oddly charisma and perfectly suited for Johnny Depp's extraordinary abilities.

Again, that's their quote and not ours. And the film was set for release in 2011. My name is Jim Stranko and I'm with the Comics Brotherhood and welcome to ComicMix Radio. ComicMix dot com. It's big news for ComicMix at the release of our first set of graphic novels and their limited editions exclusively produced for the upcoming Baltimore Comic Con.

The three graphic novels in full color consist of GrimJack, The Manx Cat by John Ostrander and Tim Truman, Jon Sable's Ashes of Eden by Mike Grell and a Harvey nominated Easy Street by Robert Tinnell and Mark Wheatley. So what's it like to see your webcomic work now in print? Well, Mark Wheatley has an opinion. Well, it means to me that if I activate my old person brain, it seems like suddenly the graphic novel is going to be real.

But I swear my new young person brain thinks that it's been real ever since it's been up on ComicMix. So it's, you know, an interesting schizophrenic thing going on there. So why do we choose Baltimore for our debut? Well, as Mark will explain, it's a comic convention. Yes. Baltimore is a really cool comic convention that is emphasizing comic books.

I rarely see a dealer's room with as many comic books for sale as I do at the comic book show in Baltimore. And because of that, they're very excited. The people who run the show, Mark Nathan and everybody, are very excited when they get exclusive comic books on sale for the first time at the show. So they're very happy to know that ComicMix is premiering all three graphic novels, easy street, GrimJack and Jon Sable at the show. In addition to having easy street as one of our three graphic novel premieres, Mark also has the excitement of that Harvey nomination.

Well, this is my second Harvey nomination. Actually, my third, if you count the ones, both of the ones this year. But I got a Harvey nomination quite a few years ago and I hadn't gotten one in a while and I thought maybe they'd forgotten about me. So it's nice to get another one. Also, it'd be really nice, I think, to help put this on people's radar or at least comic makes on people's radar.

I think it kind of legitimizes them that out of the gate the first year up when they had some comics thrown the fight that they got noticed by the Harvey Awards. I think it's really cool. Meanwhile, back at ComicMix.com, what about a follow up to easy street? Actually, I am busy working right now on the sequel to easy street, which is Lone Justice Crash, which is a really cool two-sisted pulp adventure novel. And that is coming.

It depends on how fast I work. At the moment, it's probably going to start sometime in October, I think. Let's take a look, though, at some of the comics that you should have had by this time and when you can actually expect to get them in your hands.

Starting with DC, that includes Billy Batson and The Magic of Shazam. That all ages title number two has been delayed now until next week, the 17th from DC. Subsequent issues are also going to be late. Number three will be along around the 22nd of October. And they play catch up with number four when it comes in right around the first part of November.

The Spirit Hardcover that collects the ongoing series from DC. That second volume will be delayed until the first of October. Freelander number 35 is now set to come along around the 8th of October and the Justice Society of America issue number 19. That includes the regular and the variant editions will now be along the 8th of October as well. From Image Comics, look for a delay in Invincible number 52.

We'll let you know about that one. At Marvel Fantastic Four, number 560 has been moved to the 17th of this month. And what would a list of late comics be without a mention of powers? Issue number 30, the next one now scheduled for the 17th of this month. The variant editions of Secret Invasion number six, but not the regular version, will all be a week late.

Look for those around the 17th of this month. How about the next issue of Kick-Ass number five is scheduled to come along now right around the 8th of October from Marvel. And from IDW, Presidential Material, those two one-shots featuring Barack Obama and John McCain have actually been moved up on the schedule. ComicMix timeline, September 13th. 1974! Down at the drugstore, DC had a couple of things going for them this year, including 60s end titles that contained 100 pages. Lots and lots of spooky comics as well. That included Phantom Stranger 34 this week.

Wonder Woman number 215, or a 100-page House of Mystery number 228. We got A Dream of the Jungle Girl number five, Shadow number eight, and some great Jack Kirby reprints in Black Magic number seven. It was scary over at Marvel as well with Ghost Rider number nine. There was Marvel Team-Up number 28. Tomb of Dracula number 27 by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan.

Captain America hit number 180, and we got the magazine-sized Deadly Hands of Kung Fu number seven. 1974! In the news, two of President Ford's top economic advisors say there will not be any relief to inflation for the rest of this year. OPEC announced they were cutting back on oil production to help keep prices high, and the murderer of Mrs. Martin Luther King, Sr. was sentenced to die in the electric chair.

In the movies, there was Dr. Gefago, the California split, Big Jim Brown was in three the hard way, Andy Warhol had his version of Frankenstein on the screen, and Charles Bronson got mad for the first time in Death Wish. TV Tonight had the new TV season getting underway with a fourth season opener of Samford and Sun, and the premiere of some new shows like Police Woman, Cojack, and Planet of the Apes.

The night ended with another NBC midnight special hosted by these guys. Great onstage performance by the OJ's. 1974! On the radio was a song created generally in the studio by the team of John Carter and Ken Lewis. They brought on for voice work a guy named Tony Burroughs, who was the voice behind the Edison Lighthouse,

White Plains, and the Brotherhood of Man. Together, they were first class, and the song was Beach Baby. Do you remember back in old L.A.? Oh! When everybody drove a Chevrolet, oh!

Whatever happened to the boy next door? The suntan crew cut all American mail. Remember, that's the night school with my blow. Just like with Minnesota pop, oh! I never recognized the true next door.
