Heroes returns with a 3 hour blockbuster in just a few days What's it gonna be like? Well, one cast member has some insight on it and he's feeling pretty good We'll let him share the joy on the way coming up on September 20th 2008 ComicMates U
You're gonna have to dig way back in the long boxes for this one But the next guy in line to hit the big screen might be Reed Fleming, the world's toughest milkman Originally published beginning in 1978 in the early 1980s, Reed Fleming was one of the more popular early independent comics And now it's fallen into the attention of Jonathan Demme The guy who did Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia and something wild
Now while the movie rights to Reed Fleming were purchased way back in the 1990s, nothing has happened The plans have just laid their dormant and Demme says he plans to change that sometime in the near future Top Cow has announced the winners of the 2008 pilot season campaign are Twilight Guardian by Troy Hickman and Genius by Mark Bernadine and Adam Freeman as well For a month now fans went to the Top Cow website, to the pilot season website or some other tie-in sites
to vote for their favorite 2008 pilot season one shots This will mean that these characters will get a series sometime in 2009 Cyblade and Velocity are the winners of last year's pilot season 2007 will have new series debut later this year from Top Cow Once the shelves have been cleared away of copies of Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk
Kung Fu Panda hits DVD and Blu-Ray coming up on Sunday November the 9th And it's going to be packaged with a new companion story called Secrets of the Furious 5 These two titles are being released together in what they're calling a Pandemonium Double Pack for right around 25 bucks and it marks the first time that DreamWorks has ever released a movie on DVD Blu-Ray with an all new adventure as well
The feature, Secrets of the Furious 5 goes into the backstories of the Kung Fu Panda characters and features a lot of the same voices as the regular movie For just under a decade one of the things that I've always looked forward to during the holiday season was Paul Dini's regular Jingle Bell one shots Now we're going to get an early Christmas present with a Halloween slash Christmas one shot
written by Dini and drawn by Stephanie Gladden Santa has triumphed over a number of enemies including the devil himself in the past Now though he's facing his greatest challenge in Jingle Bell, Santa Claus versus Frankenstein Look for the one shot to be in comic stores sometime during the next month Alright here's your water cooler story for the weekend
Take this along to tell your friends that Fox is developing a new law themed 60 minute dramedy Nothing big news there However the pilot is based on the fairy tale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs It's called Georgia and the Seven Associates and it's set in Los Angeles with a young female lawyer who's fired from a top law firm by her stepmother
and then sets up a shop with seven zany lawyers in a storefront legal office They're going to carry the fairy tale theme even further as most of her associates will have the characteristics similar to the Seven Dwarfs and their cases will incorporate other fairy tales like the Three Little Pigs and others Look for Ken Kwapas who's been involved with the office to direct the pilot, no air date yet Hi I'm Summer Blair and you're listening to ComicMix

Comic-Nax Radio Coming back for the third season of any television series not an easy task Imagine what it's like though for a series that was at least somewhat of a pop culture phenomenon cut off By the writers strike in the middle of a time when a lot of people felt that the stories were bogged down with being a little over written That's heroes and producer Tim Kring says that one of his goals of this third season after coming back being gone for nine months
Was not to drag a lot of story behind them and to make people feel they really didn't have to watch two years of the show to catch up Now you will have a chance to catch up a little bit NBC's devoted next Monday night entirely to heroes There's a one-hour catch-up hour that begins at 8 o'clock And then a nine a two-hour premiere of the beginning of the third season
Lots of changes on the way for example from the inside Kristen Bell who plays Elle Bishop on the series said her character alone will be undergoing a lot of development during the season And reveal some unknown connections to other characters Bell said she's in for 13 episodes this year But what about the main stars the people that have kept the story going for the previous two seasons
Beginning with Milo Ventimiglia Peter Petrelli Milo recalls last spring when the strike ended and the script started coming in and everything seemed to be falling into place But I think everybody just wants to get back to that that feeling of the show that first season of that kind of excitement that we all had you know working on it And I tell you what I read I read the first the first episode that Tim Kring wrote and I just I called him at 11 o'clock at night I didn't care what time it was Mike Timmies this is unbelievable man it gave me the chills getting back to that first time I read the pilot script and you know through that first season
That's a pretty good compliment from a guy who is generally at the center of all the action on the series After all he's the guy with all the powers although for Milo it really didn't start out that way It's oddly enough when I had no idea after I even filmed the pilot We did the pilot all I knew was the kid thinks he can fly he jumps off he can't oops And then it wasn't until the up fronts which are the big announcements for TV that Tim Kring said so I got Peter figured out
He's like Neo in the Matrix he does everything he's like this ultimate badass And I'm like I can handle that I can do that The first story arc is called Villains and that doesn't necessarily mean we're going to meet a lot of new bad guys although we will What about some changes that are involved with the main characters like Peter Petrella? I think you're going to see Peter behaving not quite like himself
I think you're going to come to understand the darker parts that are inside all of us And I think ultimately you know this This this larger story that Peter is only a cog in as well as any other character You know we're all pieces of the puzzle of life and how our characters have come together is a mystery And I think we're just looking to tell like another epic saga
There's a lot resting on this third season of Heroes and a lot resting on the main actors of the show that's for sure Milo's ready to handle the challenge though and one of the things that I've always been impressed with And I had to tell him was how he really looks like a superhero with all the right moves Dude nobody thinks about that you have to do that and you got to get the face and when you're shooting electricity It's like you can't just turn around and go
It's like you got I mean you got a feel it's got to come out of you and I don't know I get excited about things like that you know because yeah I read comics when I was a kid And you have to you have to really physicalize all that all those powers in some way And I'm picking up these powers from other actors you know so they give their first performance of it And you know my performance is just kind of an homage whatever they're doing like Greg Grundberg in his kind of head tilts
And Adrienne when he's flying or Hayden when she's like healing herself or Massey when he's you know doing all that Some kind of like paying homage to what they're doing Comic-pitched radio Comic-next timeline September 20th
