Beyond the weekly fix, there are plenty of things there not found anywhere else and this week we start to point them out, plus:

Broadcast, 294. ComicMix.com Time to start thinking about those gifts. ComicMix.com Hi, it's Mike Raub. As we run down the new comics and DVDs this week, we're laying a few aside that you might want to do the same.
Maybe important gifts for those you love, or maybe just a little extra something for yourself as well. We'll all get greedy together coming up on December 7th. December 2nd. 2008. ComicMix.com Not a big shocker here, but Batman number 681 has sold out the pivotal issue in the Batman R.I.P. storyline.
Hit comic stores last week and is now gone. A second printing is on the way. It'll feature a recolored version of the issue's variant cover, which gives you a chance to at least grab that one in some form. It's the one by Tony Daniel and Sandu Flore. It'll be in stores on the 2nd of January, but you better talk to your retailer soon to make sure he gets you one. Speaking of variants, there's a couple of holiday themed ones that are on the way with the next issue of Hulk.
That's number 9 coming out just about the 24th of the month. These special Santa Hulk variants are drawn by Frank Chow and Art Adams. They come in a 50-50 ratio, which means you have a pretty good chance of getting them at most comic stores. And again, Hulk number 9 hits those stores on Christmas Eve. We gotta applaud our friends at IDW for another way to bring new people into the comic book industry.
They, along with their partners at Iverse Media, are making Ghost Whisper the Haunted number 1 available in the iTunes App Store. This is the 5-issue miniseries that came, of course, from the hit CBS series starring Jennifer Love Hewitt. It is written by Kerry Smith and Becca Smith, who are also both writers on the regular series as well. When you stop to consider there are more people to watch this show than probably buy comics as a whole, it's a great new way to bring people into the industry and again, it's available on the iTunes App Store right now from Apple.com.

Yep, once again, here we go. Batman number 682. This will be the one that sets the pace for what's going to be happening now that there is no more Dark Knight. Or is there? Find out the story and what's going to be happening. People are still going to be talking about it, whether you like it or not.
And there's a variant issue as well. Chuck, the series based on the TV series, winds up with issue number 6 this week. There's El Diablo number 4, which is a 6 issue series. First issue of the Haunted Tank mini series. It'll be a 5 issue run and there's 2 different covers on that one from DC. You get Jonah Hex number 38, that great storyline continues in Justice Society of America.
And we get number 21 this week. And again, a variant cover there. Also this week, Sandman Dream Hunters number 2 with a variant edition as well. That's a 4 issue series. There's Sgt. Rock, the Lost Battalion number 2, which is a 6 issue series from DC.
There's a new issue of Showcase. Of course, this time the trade paperback has the second volume of those grade 60 Supergirl stories. Speaking of trade paperbacks, there's another spirit trade paperback to get you caught up just in time for the movie in an inexpensive way. The new series that starts this week is Supergirl Cosmic Adventures in the 8th grade. Yes, it is an all ages book, but it's kinda cool.
Also, Superman Batman Vengeance collected in a trade paperback this week. And Superman Supergirl Maelstrom number 3, which is the 5 issue series. Get another Teen Titans trade paperback. Teen Titans on the clock this week. Speaking of Titans, there's also Terra number 3, which is a 4 issue series.
And Terra Titans number 3, which is a 6 issue series. Of course, there's Trinity number 27 this week. Also, Vixen, Return of the Lion number 3. Again, another mini series. This time it's 5 issues.
And in the gift department from DC, some beautiful World of Warcraft figures this week. In a series number 3, if you're keeping track, a whole bunch available. Check with your retailer to make sure he has the ones you want. From Devil's Dew, we get Hack Slash number 18. And again, that has a couple of different covers.
From Dynamic Forces, there's Boys number 25. There's a variant black and white cover on that one if you're lucky enough to get it. Also from Dynamic Forces, Jungle Girls season 2 number 2. Project Superpowers, the hardcover collection, first volume in that run. And Xena versus the Army of Darkness, what again? Number 2.
IDW checks in with Doctor Who, the classic second volume of that trade paperback series. There's Doctor Who the Forgotten number 4. Dreamer number 2, Dreamland Chronicles number 6. The presidential material Barack Obama second printing of that sold out book. Ser Apropos of Nothing number 2, that's a 5 issue series.
Speed Racer Next Generation Birthright number 2 and then our next best bet. It's cool! There was a little scene episode of Star Trek, the original series, and involved a spin-off they were trying at the time that never really worked. Involving a character called Gary Seven.
IDW, along with a bunch of people including John Byrne, created a mini-series based on that particular episode. And I gotta tell you, as weak as the premise may be when you listen to it, it's still a lot of fun. Star Trek Assignment Earth in a trade paperback this week,
it is well worth picking up. A lot of fun to read. Transformers Animated Arrival number 5 this week from IDW as well. Then we move on to Image. Mice Templar, the hardcover first volume in that, and again well worth picking up.
Astoundly Wolfman number 10, Broken Trinity, the Witchblade series. Comes in with a couple of different variants this week. The Charlatan Ball number 5, Darkness number 72, again, with a couple of different covers. There's Godland, the trade paperback number 4,
I Hate Gallant Girl number 2, which is a 3 issue series. Wouldn't Be Christmas without a Jingle Bell one shot. This time it's Jingle Bell, Santa Claus vs. Frankenstein, and again, two different covers on that from Image. There's Noble Causes number 38, Proof,
second volume trade paperback collection of that. Sword number 13, Youngblood number 6, and Zero G number 3, which is a 4 issue series from Image. Over to Marvel for Amazing Spider-Man number 579, that's got a variant on it as well.
There's Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, Laughing Corpse number 3, it's a 5 issue run if you're keeping track. Astonishing X-Men, the second collection of that book. This time with a hardcover with a couple of different versions. There's Cable number 9, Criminal 2 number 7.
Speaking of collections, Frank Miller and Klaus Jansen's Daredevil work, the second trade paperback collection of that. And there's a Daredevil premium hardcover of Daredevil Yellow, the mini-series from a few years back. From Orson Scott Carr, there's Ender's Shadow Battleschool number 1.
That'll be 5 issues when it's done. And yes, there's a variant on that one. We get the fifth trade paperback of the Essential Wolverine. There's A Turtle's number 6, Gen Next, the collection, a trade paperback.
Another Hulk one-shot, Hulk Family Green Jeans number 1. There's a more liar-fist number 20, The Infinity Crusade, another mini-series from almost a decade ago, in a trade paperback this week, first volume of that one. And again, more collections, Invincible Iron Man,
the premium hardcover of that recent mini-series. First of all, there'll be a few volumes, I'm sure. And there's several different versions of that, including a cover that is based on the movie Iron Man as well. And again, a great gift.
There's the Iron Man, the Hulk, Nick Fury one-shot. There's Lords of Avalon, Knights of Darkness number 1, which will be 6 issues. With the all-ages group, Marvel Adventures Hulk in a trade paperback digest makes a nice stalking stuffer as well.
There's the Marvel Spotlight Secret Invasion aftermath this week. More on that coming up. Marvel Zombies 3, number 3, which is a 4-issue series. Marvel's Eye of the Camera, which is a sequel to that very popular 90s mini-series. Get issue 1 of what will be a 6-issue run this week.
There's Moon Knight, Silent Knight number 1, New Avengers number 47, which is a Secret Invasion tie-in. New Exiles number 15, and the second volume of the New Exiles collection in a trade paperback that is called Soul Awakening. NYX, no way home this week.
Issue number 4 of a 6-issue run. There's the Punisher Max Christmas Special this week, which has a bloody variant. And we wrap up Secret Invasion with number 8 this week and a whole bunch of different covers on that. And Secret Invasion, Frontline, winds up as well with issue number 5.
There's the She-Hulk Cosmic Collision, which is a one-shot this week. Also, Webin X First Class number 2, 3 issues will be when that's over with. There's What If House of M, Wolverine Manifest Destiny number 2, that's a 4-issue run. Wolverine Powerback number 2, which is also a 4-issue series. And speaking of 4, that's the length of the new X Infernus mini-series.
It starts this week with issue number 1. There's a variant on that one. X-Men Manifest Destiny number 4 comes along this week. There's one more to go on that one. And then our last best bet.
Marvel's Noir series begins this week with X-Men Noir number 1. It's a 4-issue series. There'll be Noir versions of other titles, including Spider-Man in the weeks to come. Might need a page through just to see how important this is going to be. Also this week on the magazine rack from 2Marls, there's Alder Ego number 82.
And the Mike Blug Modern Masters train paperback also this week from 2Marls. And one more Secret Invasion note. This is a week when Marvel's going to reveal the plans for their Dark Rain series. That begins not too far from right now. There's a special edition handout which has a complete list of all the titles they have not revealed so far.
That should be available for you free in your comic store. Be sure to add some letters. Alright, here's where the gift list gets serious. A lot of good DVDs out this week. Some special editions as well.
Make great gifts like we said for you or for your friends. Right off the bat, there's three that are going to top the list. There's Wanted. There's a special edition of that one as well with some great stuff on it. Chronicles of Narnia, Prince Caspi, and again another special edition.
And Step Brothers, the Will Ferrell movie with another regular and a special edition that has hours of extra stuff on it. Also this week, it may not be a gift but you may want to pick it up. Don't know why. X-Files, I want to believe, available in a couple of different editions including Blu-ray. The Ice Cube movie Long Shots is on DVD this week as well.
And then a bunch of different things in special edition and or Blu-ray. Austin Powers, a complete collection, and Casablanca, available in Blu-ray and a special edition this week. There's a regular non-Blu-ray special edition of The Day the Earth Stood Still, the original movie. A classic to have no matter what. A good thing to have though in case you're ready for the new movie, which opens in about a week.
New Blu-ray edition of the Shawshank Redemption. There's also a Blu-ray edition of Stranger Than Fiction this week as well. And another one of Sin City of Blu-ray this week. From TV, a lot of good stuff here. Metalocalypse, we get season number two.
There's Saturday Night Live, those SNL box collections continue this time it's the fourth season. Also this week's Law and Order season number six. And then Back to the Old Days for Perry Mason, season three, volume two on DVD. And for your William Conrad fix, Jake and the Fat Man, season one, volume two and Cannon, season one, volume two on DVD. ComicMix Radio!
ComicMix timeline. December 2nd. 1971! DC's were still hanging in at the 25 cent price tag this week. We got All Star Western number 10.
Again, some reprints in there, but most knowable, it was the first appearance of Jonah Hex. We got Batman number 239 with a great Batman Christmas story by Denny O'Neil. Brave of Bold number 100 with Batman and four of his most famous co-stars. Jack Kirby's Forever People number seven from Beyond the Unknown number 15. Again with some more reprints.
Justice League number 96, slowest lay number 119 with Inside the Outsiders. And Superboy number 182, which had an appearance by a teenage Batman. For Nicolas this week, we got Marvels that included Fantastic Four number 120. Spider-Man number 106, Captain America number 147, which had a Hydra story. Conan number 14, still with work by Barry Smith.
Creatures on the loose number 16 with some great old Marvel stories in there. Anna Gulliver Jones' new story by Roy Thomas and Bill Kane. More reprints in Marvel Tales number 34 and Marvel Triple Action number 2. 1971! In the news, after an onslaught of attacks by the North Vietnamese, the Cambodian forces were reported to be on the retreat and they requested more air power from the US.
K.U.Sade called on his troops to mobilize an upcoming showdown with Israel. And President Nixon announced plans to return from his Peking trip just in time for the first 1972 Democratic presidential primary. For a serious week in the movies this time, there was weekend with a babysitter, well maybe not so serious. Born to win, Man in the Wilderness, The Wild Rovers, Sunday Bloody Sunday and Gene Hackman in the French Connection. On TV tonight, episodes of Ironside and Longstreet, there was the Hollywood TV in Irving, David Frost and a whole bunch of important guests and there was…
