Hello, it's Mike Raub. Welcome to The Point, where all parts of pop culture come together. Happy endings on ABC, winding up season three, but is there more in their future? We talked to the cast about whether or not that's true, or is this really the end? And there's more to uncover with Deep South Paranormal Plus.

You know, it's not even April Fool's, and yet heroes might be coming back. Let's get to The Point. This is The Point, The Point Radio, get The Point Radio. ABC's Happy Endings has been known as the little show that could. After an abbreviated first season where the show was actually canceled, it got a second

lease on life and two more seasons on the network. For actors, this is Alicia Cuthbert and Eliza Coop. They've been along for the whole ride, and Eliza's been using the time to develop her character, Jane. Every episode, there's always some random thing that Jane's obsessed with, so I just

kind of go for it. Even if it's the dumbest little thing that kind of keeps it fresh because it's the first obsession she's ever had. Every single one is the biggest obsession, so I just make it the best, her number one thing, and then until the next episode when it's something totally different.

All in all, how close is real life, Elijah, to fictional Jane? I am definitely like Jane. In a lot of ways, I'm definitely a perfectionist. My Jane is, as though wrapped in a little bit of a different package. Jane is always so perfectly put together, and the clothes are so tight and so fitted,

and I'm just not that person. Seriously, I'm Tom Jane's clothes, and I've said this before in interviews, it's like putting on a back brace. I feel like I am just very upright and very ready to go. But I'm definitely, I'm not as controlling as she is.

I'm more controlling, and I don't try to fix other people's lives as she does. I'm just all about making sure that I'm perfect in real life. So, yeah, there's not enough therapy in the world for the lives of Jane, I think, she'll probably get better in time. And for Alicia's take on the question.

I think my character is kind of similar in the sense that, maybe not obsessed, but I think Alex tends to get really, really overly excited about the things that she's involved with. So it's similar. And I think when we're all in a group and working together, our energy seems to always

be up. I mean, I think Eliza and I spoke about this on set kind of towards the end of wrapping up season three, where it was like, it's not that difficult to find the energy when we're all together for some reason. I think we just kind of draw off each other and it keeps things definitely high energy.

So where does her inspiration come from? You know, it's funny, I beat a lot of my character off my sister. I think she's actually now enjoying it because I think her's are also going, Oh my God, it's so true. So she's coming to the realization that it's definitely her.

Alex definitely dresses better than I do. You know, that helps me have a costume designer dressing every single day. But you know, there's definitely more of my sister in there than of my actual true self. And also a little bit of Joey from friends. Girls play sisters on the series, quirky to say the least.

And before this last set of episodes wrap up, we'll see a new sister introduced. This one played by actress Stephanie March. There was a lot of talk of bringing in a third Kirk of a bitch sister through the course of the whole third season. And it really wasn't until the last minute that we realized Stephanie March was coming

in and we're all so excited. And then it was kind of a question of was she going to be more Alex or more Jane? And I think people are going to see that she's definitely Jane to the max. So it's kind of fun to see them together and kind of getting competitive. And it was a lot of fun to have her.

Every week it seems like we tell you about another reboot or remake and you shake your head and go, I can't believe they're doing that. Well, this time we're going to be right along with you with rumors of a return to television of heroes. The NBC show that ran from 2006 to 2010 and is not well remembered in a lot of circles

is possibly coming back as part of original programming headed to Xbox. MSN says that if they do the project, there will be an all new cast of characters, but there will be the possibility of cameos from the original cast, including Hayden Panatera and Milo Ventimiglia. Having hired execs from both NBC and CBS, MSN is right now in the process of putting

together a slate of original programming to premiere on Xbox. It's possibly one of the best present Star Wars fans have received in a long time. And recently Disney just made the announcement that there'll be a new Star Wars movie every year, starting in 2015, all the way to the debut of episode seven in 2021. No word yet on officially what those films will be.

Although their talks of solo efforts that will involve maybe Boba Fett or a young Han Solo as well. Right now they've shoehorned their first Star Wars film into the busy summer of 2015, the same one that Disney will also be premiering Avengers two from Joss Whedon. The Alcon television group has acquired the rights to Terry Morris series, Rachel Rising,

and supposedly they're developing into a live action series. According to the Hollywood reporter, the Alcon group is new. That's the same folks that are have a film division that are also doing a new Blade Runner movie. Right now, this is the first project though of the television division.

There's some pretty strong indications that Fox has pulled the plug on the Cleveland show with no new episodes lined up. And when you look at what they have planned for the Sunday night animation block, there doesn't seem to be even room for the series when things resume in the fall with new episodes coming in a family guy, American dad and Bob's burgers and a new series called murder police

This year ended the fourth season of the spin off of family guy, which began back in 2009. May seem like a minor point to a few, but in the courtroom and in the boardroom and Warner Brothers, it's pretty big deal. A federal court has ruled on the final issues in the long running litigation between DC comics, Warner Brothers, and the heirs of the Superman property.

Loudly enough, it came on the 75th anniversary of the man of steel. A federal judge declared that some Superman advertisements and more important to copyright to the characters Superboy now officially belong to DC comics. Of course, there's always appeals that are possible, but to most folks within the law circles, they feel this is pretty much the end of the road for this particular litigation.

Add weird science to the list of remakes that just keeps growing every day in the world of pop culture. So for pictures, Universal plan to remake the film originally released in 1985 and directed by the late John Hughes. All we know so far is that a darker tone is planned for this remake.

By the way, there was also a USA network television series that produced 88 episodes and ran in the mid 1990s. Want to say the final episodes of don't trust the bitch in apartment 23, at least for the James van der Beek scenes. Well, you can do so all the last eight episodes unseen on network TV.

I'm now turning up on iTunes and Hulu courtesy of ABC. No word yet on exactly what it'll cost, but more than likely there'll be free versions out there as well. If you look hard enough, this is the point. The newest addition to sci fi's closely line up is deep South paranormal with pair of guys

out investigating the spooky stuff that happens beneath the Mason Dixon line and investigator Jonathan Hodges is more than happy to point out the differences between this and the other show. Yeah, I mean, you know, people gonna have their different people's gonna have their different thoughts on the show, you know, and but I think the South is so rich with

history and, and, and, you know, the people I'm hoping it's gonna give good exposure. It's gonna show the it's gonna bring light to we're not all just we're not all drug dynasties. You know, we all don't. Yeah, we have some guys in our group that they have long beers, but that doesn't mean

we all go out and we're not all, you know, shooting ducks and stuff like that. It's it's it's not just playing on that. We're trying to bring light, you know, with deep South paranormal. We're trying to get it out there to show people that that, you know, the history of the South and what the South has to offer in the paranormal field.

It's just because the South hot right now. I mean, it's hot for a reason. People are intrigued with the South because it has so much history and it has so much to offer, you know, and it needs South paranormal. What we're trying to do is just get that more out there for for everybody can see across

the nation. Jonathan's partner Keith Ramsey says that the rich history of the area gives them plenty to work with. Yeah, it's like John said, the heritage in the South is, you know, a lot of people's curious about it.

You know, all through the rest of the nation and around the world. It's it's an opportunity for us to show, you know, what what it's all about. And and, you know, how how it's our group is like a has become like a family of its own. You know, just like we share with their families back home.

And an example of that. Yeah, I mean, a perfect, perfect example. You know, one of the episodes for the South that we've done, you know, we actually went to a Civil War battlefield and, you know, right off the bat, we thought this this this get this with Keith out with a guitar.

Let's get let's get her out. And we automatically started singing, you know, songs from that era. And we've done some songs. We hum some some different tunes and stuff and actually got some really good, really good responses.

And, you know, just so Keith, exactly right. I mean, you knew it's been around forever. I mean, music's universal across the board. And you can find a little research to it. It can it can be a super effective tool.

And one thing keep, you know, one other thing that we that we've done is we got we got a occasion man in our group, part piece from the swamp, you know, and and he brings some techniques that just that we've never done before. I think just because things that's been passed down through generations, you know, type of rituals and type of type of things that I mean, sometimes this gear the shit out of

me. I mean, I think that's what we're going to be doing with with, you know, with different types. You know, I need to I need to go get me this, you know, we're like, Oh, what in the hell is he talking about?

You know, but it works, you know, it's a it's different different techniques. But anybody can take the same road. But but we try to we try to get over in the ditches a little bit and try to try to and as long as it's working, we know we're doing something right. You know, new episodes of Deep South Paranormal every Wednesday on the Sci-Fi channel.
