This week Maddy gives a quick 3-min review of Underworld Blood Wars which is now available on Digital HD from Amazon Video and iTunes and will released on DVD and Blu-ray April 25, 2017.
With the war between lycans and vampires still chugging along, it’s up to death dealer Selene (Kate Beckinsale) to put an end to the conflict. Drawing on a small group of allies, Selene must also fight the lycans new leader, Marius, who wants Selene taken care of, but with the help of the hybrid blood strain, she hopes that she can at least bring peace.
WonderCon is Anya’s favorite Con, so even though we were previously committed last weekend to attend the California State Thespian Festival, we made sure to at least stop by the Anaheim Convention Center on the way home.
We had to turn down a bunch of interviews and couldn’t even attend any panels (not even the Voltron one!), but we did, however get 3 hours on the floor before closing. This is what we did and what we saw during those 3 hours.

With the recasting for the 4th Diary of a Wimpy Kid Movie: The Long Haul, the comedic soul of the series (and emo dream boy), Roderick Heffley has been replaced by an actor who looks like Johnny Depp’s Willy Wonka. And we know, like us, you won’t stand idle while this happens. Devon Bostick is Rodrick. He will always be Rodrick.
And if you have no idea what we’re talking about, you really need to get on your meme game — but we’ll explain the #NotMyRodrick movement to you anyway.
Musicals are life. And while we weren’t exactly caught up on both Supergirl and The Flash (though we’re told we really need to do that), we couldn’t miss the SuperFlash crossover event. Especially not with Broadway talents like Darren Criss, Jeremy Jordan, John Barrowman, Jesse L. Martin, Victor Garber and Glee alums Melissa Benoist & Grant Gustin!
Thing is, Maddy knew a little something about the Music Meister’s first appearance (played by Neil Patrick Harris, who also beat Darren Criss to the punch at playing Hedwig) on Batman: The Brave and the Bold, so we couldn’t help but compare the two musical episodes.

In Table 19 (out tomorrow, March 3rd 2017) ex-maid of honor & ex-girlfriend to the best man Eloise ( played by Anya’s fave, Anna Kendrick) attends her oldest friend’s wedding to find herself seated at the ‘random’ table in the back of the ballroom with a group of strangers. As everyone’s secrets are revealed, Table 19 become a little bit Breakfast Club in connecting these unwanted guests into a band of supportive friends.
Yeah, this is pretty much the rom-com option for those not off to see Logan this weekend, but we really enjoyed it. We’ll explain why you should see it — and we also talk about our new favorite Broadway cast recording that we manage to bring full circle back to Anna Kendrick.
This was our third year attending the Long Beach Comic Expo. We have always looked forward to attending because we have always picked up great art & amazing geek chic clothes. This year, though, it was different. It felt smaller with less opportunity for shopping. But it was really cool to see a ton of geek girls representing (shout out to the Girl Scouts!) And as always the LBCE was focused on comic books and being family friendly. There are some definite advantages to smaller comic conventions.
The panels this year didn’t have a lot of flashy names (though Jason Mamoa & all the Ghostfacers from Supernatural were the headliners), but seemed to focus on issues related to cosplay and geekdom. Of course, there are many battles to fight for greater diversity, equality, and acceptance, but we didn’t feel like we needed a panel to tell us that. Plus, if we’re going to discuss bullying, we’ll start with Anya — which we did as we sat on the stairs and vlogged about the expo.
