Stargate expands, Illuminati escapes, Barbie’s electronic!

www.comikmix.com I can smell it, it's not only the start of spring but the start of the comic book convention season as well. Hi it is Mike Raub, another week to get to here on the broadcast and a lot of good stuff to cover including of course our usual list of the new comics, some great DVDs coming out this week, some television, woah what a week this is going

to be for TV and we're going to talk all about it and give you a chance to comment on it as well. And we're going to dance to the Marquis Desaude's one big hit. All that and more on April 24th 2007. ComicMix News MGM has unveiled an all new official Stargate website promoting of course Stargate SG1 and

Atlantis both currently running on the Sci-Fi channel. The new website features news, photos, production galleries and a lot more pertaining to the series including a link to the MGM online store which has a whole bunch of Stargate collectibles. Now you know the program Stargate itself is coming to an end shortly, it's in it's tenth season but then the spin off, Stargate Atlantis is going to continue. There are two films on the way, Stargate the Ark

of Truth and Stargate the Continuum and a new Stargate series they say now that's going to start somewhere in 2008 called Stargate Universe. The film is announced at Nova number one that's sold out spinning out of the Annihilation series that will be going on throughout the summer. They have no plans at this point to go back to press for a second printing or variant. BBC America has announced some scheduling

things that are going to be taking place not just right now but between now and the end of the summer as well and some things I think will be of interest to you. They're dedicating certain days of the week to certain genres of shows starting with Supernatural Saturday on June the 2nd they'll be showing the final episode of Hex from season one if you never caught Hex get a chance to do so. A really good series that probably has not gotten

a lot of attention but should. They'll also be running the second season of Hex after that alternating with The Doctor Who on seven o'clock on Saturdays. On the Sundays there's Adventure Sunday with that really good Robin Hood series at seven o'clock and then a special British movie from eight until ten o'clock at night and coming up later in the year you will see a brand new series called Jekyll on August the 4th. The Ultimate Force in September

Life on Mars returns in October and Torchwood will return later in the year. TV Guide Online is a brand new website and a brand new tool to help online users find video content from 55 different sites. They have a little search tool there to allow you to search for shows, actors, genre or the network. It's kind of interesting check it out at TVGuideOnline.com. Sci-fi network has a brand new site dedicated to Painkiller Jane and has a multi-strip animated

digital comic book developed of course by Jane Greider and our buddy Jimmy Palmieri. You can check it out at Sci-fi.com. And speaking of websites Mattel is launching a test site for BarbieGirls.com. It's the first they say global online community designed exclusively for girls. It will allow them to customize their virtual character, design their own room, shop, play games, hang out

and chat with other members. The final site will be revealed at a special BarbieGirls conference in New York coming up this week. Another week and another whole bunch of good comic books to get you through it to the weekend starting with the Rex Mundy series that Dark Horse has been putting back together. Again the issue number five is out this week from DC Supergirl and the Legion of Superheroes

volume number four if you're trying to catch up on what's been going on in the Supergirl and the Legion timeline mix up. Well the three paper bags are probably the best way to go because it keeps the stories pretty tight and there's another volume like I said volume four out this week. One more to go for 52, 52 number 51 this week. Action Comics 848 first issue is the six issue miniseries Amazon's attack for the Wonder Woman people

that comes out. Astro City the Dark Age book two number three at last, Batman Confidential number five. Blue Beetle 14, Catwoman 66, Connor Hawk number six the last of that miniseries. Frosty Midnight number six. The Exterminator's number 16 and Firestorm number 35 this week. Then a good trade paperback collecting the recent Hawk Girl stories. Hawk Girl the Maw is out this week in a trade paperback collection. JSA classified this week and Justice number

11. One more to go in that Alex Ross series. Justice Society of America number five as well as the Justice Society of America variant edition. What do we always tell you repeat after me talk to your retailer to get one of those. Outsiders annual number one. Red Menace wraps up with issue number six. Congratulations to our buddy Jerry Roodway on a great job there. Supergirl and the Legion number 29 if you want to get it in the regular issues.

What works number eight and Wonder Woman yes that weekly comic book. Back again we're up to issue number eight now Wonder Woman they've almost caught up with that I think. Couple good independence this week. Dork Tower if you've not ever seen this comic you have a chance to grab it just pick it up and page through it at the rack. I'm almost positive you're going to end up putting it into your book box for the week that's for sure. Also

World Disney Comics and Stories number 680 and Uncle Scrooge number 365. Great Disney's classics from Gemstone. From image truth Justin in the American way in a trade paperback this week. Good way to catch a very good miniseries and Nights at the Dinner table just like Dork Tower another great series that if you do any kind of gaming at all you're really going to enjoy. Nights at the Dinner table number 126 this week. From Marvel the Amazing Spider-Man

at second printing of number 539 again talk to your retailer. Gable and Deadpool volume six trade paperback and the Civil War trade paperbacks we talked about last week. The Fantastic Four Civil War and the X-Men Civil War out this week. Daredevil number 96. Exiles number 93. Fallen Son. Death of Captain America. This is the Avengers version of that. This week. Fantastic Four 545. Heroes for Hire number 9. The New Avengers Illuminati Secret

History. That's a book that escaped a lot of people's order form so if you did not get it or did not remember ordering it talk to your retailer because it's out this week. New week's Scalloper number 19. Powers number 24. Punisher presents Barracuda Max number 3. Runaways Digest volume 7. Good way to catch up on that is the New Jaws Whedon issues begin. Civil War number 4. Wisdom number 5. Wolverine number 53 as well as the black and white variant.

And X-Men first class wraps up with number 8 of that 8 issue miniseries. Alright this week on your DVD shelf you're going to have some nice additions starting with a movie that unfortunately just kind of had some bad luck when it was released but actually deserves a look if you get the chance. It's Deja Vu with Denzel Washington. Night at the Museum for the whole family. Two versions that have been still their movie. The Queen another Academy

Award winner that comes out this week with Helen Mirren. From the independent stack Ten Items or Less a nice little film there and a classic from Ron Howard. Parenthood starring Steve Martin great movie. Harry and the Henderson special edition is out this week and from TV well we can finally throw out our bootlegs. Alright fellow babies and now it's time to go to our live remote man on the scene at the Pinedale Shopping Mall

for the big WKRP turkey giveaway. As God as my witness I thought turkeys could fly. It took a while but we got a WKRP season one in a nice box out this week. Also from TV One Day at a Time season one NCIS season three this week. Odd couple season one talking about classic TV with Randall and Klugman. And from earlier this TV season the short lived kidnapped. For his all in one big set

you can watch it and probably still not understand what they were talking about. To direct the DVD this week yes he still has a career Jean-Claude Van Damme and until then. Timeline April 24 1991. As we get the comic book shop Neil Adams gave us armor number nine from his continuity studios. Actually it was more from them than from Neil but you get the picture. First comics had

Badger number 67 from Marvel it was Ghost Rider special number one Uncanny X-Men the number 275 New Mutants number 100 from good old Rob and then DC had Flash number 51. That Hawk World series was at number 12, Mr. Miracle at number 28 and Superman 56 rounded out what we spent our money on this week. In news the Supreme Court handed more power to the police empowering them to chase and apprehend fugitives when they just had a hunch a crime

was being committed. A powerful earthquake in Costa Rica took the lives of 79 people and the US voiced opposition to bring Saddam Hussein to trial for fear it might end up strengthening his power base. In the movies this week it was kind of a mixed bag for the ladies starting with that forgettable mortal thoughts with Demi Moore putting it into her husband who was not Bruce Willis but he was in the movie anyway and then there was Sleeping

with the Enemy not a half-bad movie with a nice performance by Julia Roberts but an even better soundtrack that had this great song in it. And then speaking of music but we'll get to that in just a minute probably the most quoted movie in pop culture today was out this week you know what it is. On TV tonight it was a premiere of an odd little show that unfortunately never lasted it was called My Life in Times and the premise was it was narrated by a guy in the year 2035 who would relate different things that happened in his life all the way back to the 80s. a kind of a cool concept but didn't quite make it some other shows that probably were a lot more popular for some unknown reason tonight Unsolved Mystery, Jake and the Fat Man and of course one of the last good years of the wonder years was on tonight. Now on the radio was a weirdest set of ingredients you'll ever find from putting together a hit record first you take some bacer Gregorian chants you throw in a dance rhythm you dedicate
