Oh, all right. You know you want to talk about it– go ahead. What did you think? Also: how much do you think it’s going to make this weekend?

A new film from Quentin Tarantino is never anything short of an event. For his eighth film, The Hateful Eight, he insisted on it being shot in 65mm using Ultra Panavision then arranged with the Weinstein Company to go back in time and release a roadshow version of the film. That is, the 70mm version…
Seems TBS has out-foxed Fox to woo Conan O’Brien and his late-night comedy show to their Time-Warner owned TBS. The deal, as announced today will allow CoCo to own the rights to his show (ala David Letterman) and grants him a 4 day work week, ala Cable’s Jon Stewart, Steven Colbert, and George Lopez. Lopez’s…
Star Trek: The Next Generation 365 By Paula M. Block and Terry J. Erdman Abrams Books, 744 pages, $29.95 Let me state upfront that Paula and Terry have been friends for a long time, but I adamantly maintain that they were the ideal people to write Star Trek 365 and the recently released Star Trek:…
Of all the classic animated films, Peter Pan may be the one that has spread its influence furthest. From James Kirk’s reference to the second star on the right to Michael Jackson’s compound being called Neverland, the enduring story of the boy who didn’t want to grow up resonates with us all. Walt Disney has…
Quarry, the world’s first hit man to star in his own series of novels, is returning to the racks in October courtesy of Ms. Tree / Road To Perdition / Batman / Dick Tracy writer Max Allan Collins. The "final" Quarry novel, The Last Quarry, was published two years ago by Hard Case Crime to much success…

I thought it was as good as the first. Some scenes from the trailer did not make it into the final cut. One character is not referred to by their code name.

I liked it. Granted, it wasn’t as “fun” as the first movie — the character-based elements of the film were a lot heavier. I did appreciate how Tony’s self-destructive tendencies were given highlight, though. I’d probably say the character-driven parts of the movie were stronger than the action parts, which might not be satisfying for everyone, but I thought it worked well.

I didn’t care as much for Cheadle over Howard, but he did a fair job. Mutual agreement on the most annoying thing in it for comic fans – Justin Hammer as a total wimp Tony Stark-wannabe. And I have to agree with Stark on Johannson, even undercover – “I want one.”
